Hello, I've been playing the game for a short time, but what I noticed is a lack of "real" rock and roll music. Why include stuff like fallout boy or that awful south park song. And the DLC? What's more Rn'R thatn NIN? Seriously, the makers need to focus on authentic great songs by artists. Where's "Born to Run", "Life in the Fastlane", "One of These Nights", hell the entire Eagles catalog. GnR, CCR; please do away with songs that have nothing to do with the game's title. The game unlockables are utter crap, and please quit shining the spotlight on hack bands like nirvana or metallica. i have no interest in them.

good one Carlos...'if you leave'.
What about Take On Me or Tainted Love, just typing that out gives me the creeps.
I am looking forward to the Judas Priest Album on Thursday, that's a worth while download.

If you give Harmonix your contact info they will be able to get in touch with you. That way only the stuff you like can be put in the game. God forbid they add something for everyone.
I want a lot more of faith no more, but stuff from the real thing is at the bottom of that list...except for suprise you're dead. Bring on Angel Dust!

You seriously think that Metallica is a hack band? I think that your suggestions for "Rock" songs are alright, but hey, no one in this thread is asking for Creed or Nickelback.

I am! Creed rocks. . . So does Nickelback! Get over yourself!!!
And I think the OP makes a pretty good point about NIN - they are a synth band. Real rockers don't hide behind Casios or Yamaha's or I think the Dev's might have included a keyboard.

Real rockers don't have rules like no synths. FNM has a keyboard and they rock the **** out of pretty much any band.

Don't be a hater..... Look under the "Rock" category at any record shop. It's usually one of the biggest categories and has TONS of different stuff in it. You'll get everything from Bryan Adams to Hatebreed under that same header.
I think so far there's a really nice mix of songs for everyone and lots of different tastes. There's some serious rock songs and some goofy, tons of fun to play in a big group kind of songs (and honestly, these are probably more important to those of us who use Rock Band as a party object).
My turn to be a hater: I swear, I'll hurt somebody if Creed or (even worse) Nickelback make their way in. Ugh, I just shuddered at the thought.

yes, nirvana's still talked about because their stupid singer failed at life, so he ended it. metallica is just a front for a bunch of snotty *****s. GN'R are ****in legends who ruled the world at their time.

GNR "legends"? They did have ONE cd that changed music at that time but Axl Rose and his "DIVA" ways killed that band.....They could of been "legends" if not for him.
By the way, How many albums have GNR sold versus Metallica?
I would say Metallica would be more "legends"....How many years in the business? How many cds sold? While not my favorite band I have to give them respect for what they have done in the music biz.......

NO, they ARE legends!!!!love him or hate him, how successful would gn'r be w/o axl???Metallica have sold more because they released more albums. if you wanna crunch numbers, Appetite has probably sold more copies than any metallica album. the illusion albums have a grip of songs that would be great for the game. who the hell can respect metallica after that "some kind of monster" film and the napster thing?

Umm...I actually thought that was one of the more fascinating rock films I've seen in a long time. Even if Lars is a complete and utter A**HOLE.

As much as I hate Fallout boy, it has a place in the game, so the kiddies will have some pop to play.
In order to appeal to everyone there needs to be a wide variety, only half of it I personally would like, but that is ok.
Just as it should be ok for bands like Creed and Nickelback to be in the game.
I personally would be extremly happy to see 3 packs from those bands.
But that just proves my point, you cant please everyone with any given band.
If Creed and Nickelback are so bad, why did, and do they sell so much music?
Harmonix is in this for the money, so Creed and Nickelback are great bands to go after as most people like them, (look at the sales figures), but there are a few that just reject anything that is overly popular, because they "want to be different".
It is almost like they think it is cool to hate these bands.
It's not, just shows you want to pretend to be a rebel.
And on the Metallica issue, getting rid of napster helped the music industry, thus making it worth while to put time and effort into making quality music.
Music has value, and the artists deserve the money they make.
I support Metallica by paying for their music.

if you wanna base it on record sales.....
the eagles have the best selling album of all time, and to no surprise, Guns n roses, are ahead of metallica as well.

Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_albums_worldwide) is probably a better way to gauge record sales.
Not just the RIAA.

Sarcasm is your friend.
But to elaborate, Yes GNR had a great album. ONE. The Illusion ones should have been only one not two discs. Even though I'm not a big Metallica fan they are pretty good and should be in the game. I'm a huge Nirvana fan. They should be in the game. There are classic bands and even though you don't like them doesn't mean they suck. Like I said, I don't like Metallica but they don't suck. What should be in the game besides GNR? You really haven't said anyone else just who you don't want.

I usually don't join in on these topics, but after looking at the repeated unintelligent posts by Senor Spencer, I couldn't resist.
To Carlos-
Do yourself a favor if you are going to complain about songs/bands that are in the game- pick ones that aren't considered "classic" by not only fans, but their peers. "Mettalica & Nirvana are hacks" ????? Are you serious? I'm not even a huge fan of either band (or GnR, for that matter) but you can't seriously make this a legitimate argument. Both bands have numerous songs & albums consistanly ranked as best of all time. As does GnR.
Face it- your argument is weak and has no merit!

if cobain were still alive, they'd have continued to make ****ty music and hopefully faded into obscurity.... and hello!!!!this is just a ****in message board, i don't think anyone's posts have any merit, everyone has at least one "_____ ought to be in the game" thread. you only say that about metallisuck and nirvana because ppl keep telling you about it. don't believe the hype, put down the koolaid.
