If so,how does it work?my friend said he would let me use his debit card.so here are a couple questions if you can answer them please.

-can you use debit on the xb?im pretty sure you can,but not sure.
-how many points can you buy at a time?like can you buy 100mp?or you have to buy full 1600,4000?
-if so,how much and what not for like 100 ect.?

reason being cause some of you may know,im short 40 points of the boston pack and i dont want to starve myself for 3 weeks saving up for it.7$ a week.cant get a job yet either till i graduate, which is in june.so yeah, thanks for reading my rant

I have purchased more than I probably should have through the marketplace. You can use your debit card and it will be permantly save there for future use. I beleive they are available in 500 point packs with the cheapest one at 6.50 I believe. They are the same price as they would be in the store but you can just get by with a 500 point pack.

Yea all my points have been purchased in the marketplace. Prices above are correct and you can use debit. Also I think there is a way to delete your info, but you have to do it manually because CC info is automatically saved when you use it.

Although now that I am starting to buy so much DLC with plenty more to come. I think I might try to get a better deal on MS point through Ebay and get, how should I say it, more points for my buck!

Let me say man if they had a transfer feature I would give you the points. No Rock Band player or Boston fan should be without the pack! However yes as Mabber said you can use a debit as I do it all the time. There is a point value he is missing, so I will give them to you again.

500 $6.25

1000 $12.50

2000 $25.00

5000 $62.50

I will tell you this is more expensive then if you went to a gamestop and got a points card. You can get 4000 pts for $50.00 that way.

As you can see the lowest is going to be 500 but who knows when you will need the extra points:) I hope this answers your question and good luck to you!!:)

if you really only want to use the card once, you can go in and delete it as a payment option

You can delete the debit card info once you are done with it.

Was thinking the same thing! I have only gotten one card from gamestop and that was because I traded in $60 worth of games to get more points.

Ok no need to rip on CENACHAINGANG54, he is a cool guy. I think he might have gotten some prices confused. Plus I have seen some better deals for points at the store. Target 4000 for $45, I might have gotten lucky that day!

I don't like the cards anyhow. We bought one and when removing the silver crap, accidentally scraped off some digits. Spent about an hour trying the different possible permutations, only to say "screw this" and put in the CC info anyhow.

Agreed, HeadHunter. Buying the physical cards is a waste of time and resources IMO. But then again, I guess it's the only alternative if you don't have a credit card / debit card / your own job.

That happened to me on a 1-year card for an Xbox Live subscription. Cept I removed ALL the digits. And MS Support basically told me to "lololol no help 4 u". It SUCKED.

And that's why I'm glad I asked for a debit card as a birthday present from my dad. (I'm 16.)

I'm with the two guys above me - the Live cards are a last resort for those without debit. Once you have your debit card info punched in, its pathetically easy to get points... perhaps TOO easy sometimes. "Press X to add points? Sure, why not!"

It can drain your bank account in a hurry if you aren't careful. ;)

*shakes head in sadness* what ever happened to basic math skills ... *sigh*

I find it a little safer to just run down to Blockbuster to buy 1400 points for 20 dollars :D

Please define safer? How is it any safer to buy from a store vs. online? It's cheaper than what you list online, plus no sales tax!

Looks like noone has touched upon this option yet, but is a good idea if you are looking for the least amount of points possible, or have very limited cash to deal with. If you go to zune.net, you can pick up 400 points for 5 bucks. (Zune being microsofts version of the ipod). All points bought there can be cross-used on to the MS Live marketplace. All higher point amounts are the same price as they are at MS. But if you only have a few bucks to deal with, or only want enough points to cover a particular pack, this is a great option to go!

Happy Rockin' !!
