Epic Vocal Battle Idea

Obviously, like the drumming, there will be vocal battles. Obviously its cool just to take turns and sing and sometimes sing the powerful lines together.

But what of songs with background singers? Lets look Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden for example. During the end, Harmonix would have to pick which line you sing, "Wont You Commmmmmmmmmmmme" or "Black hole sun! Black hole sun!". However I think thatit would be a cool addition in vocal battle to have one person sing the lead part, and one person sings background, and switch halfway through. It might be a little more effort on Harmonix's part, but man would it sound cool.

Besides the many many Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog songs that would work this way, heres one more example from a personal favorite band of mine that will really speak literal volumes for my idea ;):

Notice the three vocalists. As one person holds "one dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" the other can continue with the other lyrics.

that wouldn't be battle though, it would be co-op. a battle would be playing the exact same amount of words so there's a balance in how many max. points each person can score. If one person sang "black hole sun" and the other sang "won't you come", "won't you come" would be able to net much more points because of the sustain on "come". So the lack of balance would make it not possible for battle mode, but a defintly for co-op. I really hope there's co-op for singing songs with backing vocals.

actually in some of the KR songs they have sing the whole thing and run out of breath. parts that would normally be handled by a "looped" chorus track or a bg singer.

Seriously though.. I would never subject anyone to my singing. I know it's bad, and that's just rude.

Sushi's idea is cool, but yea... it sounds more suited towards co-op play. Which is awesome too.
