Yeah, that's right. I know there was an update, and I even know that it technically wasn't supposed to completely wipe out that mic lag, but I don't think it made any difference for mine whatsoever.

This is not a *****out to Harmonix. That's the last thing they need.

I just want to make sure there isn't something I don't know. Is anyone else out there still having this problem? Or know a way to help fix it? I WANNA SING DAMMIT!

Still, I have love for Harmonix.

Have you calibrated?

You might want to fool around with your settings.

I'm running Dolby 5.1 through an optical cable. Pre-patch, it was very laggy, but very clear.

Post patch, the lag is less, but the mic sounds a little more scratchy, and there's an echo when you overdrive. Overall, I think it's better. The lag was killing my vocalist.

I brought my PS3 over to a friend's house, and without changing a thing (optical and everything), the vocals were very very scratchy. I'm not sure why and we didn't bother messing with it. The lag was the same, and he's running Dolby 5.1 as well.

It would seem to me that in that situation, the size of the center speaker and the Dolby settings were affecting it.

I did have to recalibrate after the patch, and it would seem that had an effect on vocal lag, but I can't be positive.

So, check your sound setup, and calibrate.

Pre-patch the lag on vocals was horrible (time wise). Post-patch the lag is gone but the sound quality went with it. It now sounds like you're singing through a tin can. It also has a tendency to feedback.

The only true fix is to turn the vocals off and use a real microphone with an amp (or speakers). You'll have to use both microphones at the same time (RB & Real) but you'll at least get good quality.

Are you doing this too?

Even if they wind up fixing the problem, I am keeping the live mic.

It is so sweet to belt out a verse between songs.

It is a good addition all the way around.

Normally, no. But, when we throw our next party, yes. I believe this is the way most Rock Band Bar Night Bars (say that 3x fast!:D) are getting around the problem.

Thanks for the help guys. Unfortunately, I already kind of knew all of the options, and nothing seems to work. I just don't get it man. I went over to my friend's place, who also has the game for ps3. He had no mic lag whatsoever, and man... that was the most fun I had singing on the game. I need to find a way to fix this. I am a vocalist, I don't even play any of these instruments in real life, haha. Though I have to say, I am getting much better at actual drums thanks to virtual drumming. OH YEAH!
