Played Konami's Drummania :(

I was at the arcade last week when I saw someone playing the drums.

After having a look I decided to try it for myself.
I have never played the drums before except once when I was forced to at school when I was 13 and I sucked.
But this game sucks so much I couldn't believe it.

The sounds were just awful, as if it was a MIDI drummachine (probably was).
There were 6 pads to hit and the foot thing, which confused the hell out of me with the UI on screen, no decent explanation on when exactly to hit the notes, and it was all in Japanese except for the song names :S

There were some pretty good songs though, 'Bad to the bone', 'welcome to the jungle', 'eye of the tiger', 'Paranoid', 'Rock n roll all nite' and some more "famous" songs, but they were made so bad, it really was a shame.

I had quite a lot of fun and a nice practice, but I have much much more confidence in actually hitting any of the notes in Rockband just for the fact of 4/5 pads and a way clearer Interface.

Yeah, Drummania is definitely directed toward a different audience. The only thing I like more about drummania is that two of the drum pads are raised, but in every other aspect, the Rock Band drums win.

I started playing DrumMania like, 2 years ago, and it's actually very fun (and very challenging as well), but yeah, the music kinda sucks. I actually like DrumMania's drumkit more than Rock Band's (You have a specific pad for Cymbal, Hi-Hat, or Toms, as opposed to Rockband's drumkit)

Drummania rocks. You probably got the crappy Korean version which put in Midi-versions of a lot of the better songs.

Sorry to bump this, but I didn't feel like making a new thread on it.

I just played it today.. It actually is very fun. I also played Guitar Freaks or whatever.. hated that though.

I failed Misirlou on DrumMania on Standard.. I suck at it, but it was a lot of fun.

i must have wasted $20 on that game when i played it it was very good but would have been better if all the songs weren't Japanese pop
