Wave of Destruction, and Maps don't seem like they fit, otherones ain't bad. Overall, not too great. Where are the really great songs they promised? Also, these songs seem really easy. Will this game be good for anything other than a party game? I mean sure single player with drums should be cool, and guitar should be fun, but with guitar I don't see much of a challenge.

3 of those? Man, I want 3 of my Most Wanted bands too. They can't satisfy everyone. You should be happy with having one of those bands in the final list, 'cause I will if only one of my bands is in it ... since there are only 10 songs left. The Cure and Bloc Party would be so awesome...

I wasn't comparing how good they are. If you listen to the guitar it carries the same sound that Explosions use with their guitars. Believe me in no way do I think YYY are even in the same league as EITS, who are easily in my Top 3 bands.

Bleh. Just yuck. That being said, of course I'm still getting the game, but this is disappointing. And I'm trying to figure out what everyone sees in this YYY song, it's incredibly boring. The guitar seems simplistic, and having played drums for 12 years, I can say that the drum part in this song is very repetitive and easy to play. I wouldn't rule it out entirely but it is probably a lot less likely. With only 10 songs left, they will most likely spread out the song releases a lot more now.

Yea that happens for me with every new Guitar Hero, and will probably happen with Rock Band, even though I don't like the songs, they always end up being fun to play, Harmonix knows what they are doing.

Also I have a hunch it isn't off the rumor, for a few reasons, first they would probably say it is a rumor and not just post it, IGN doesn't usally post rumors without saying they are just that. Also its in the same post as four new songs which are clearly really in the game, so I am now going to assume that Nevermind will be a DLC album, and I will officially be buying it the day it comes out.

OK...just went and listened to all four of these, and honestly...I think three of the four are going to end up being good choices and fun to play once all's said and done. The outcast...that pixies song...don't get it. But even though I have no love for any of the three other bands, those songs are going to be pretty good to play I think...easy perhaps, for some of them at least, but you need easy songs just as much as difficult ones.

And they had to service the ladies at some point...

Yeah Yeah Yeah's is awesome news, I really wanted them to make it in. Pixies are awesome too, I've played a couple of their songs on custom GH2 discs and they were pretty damn fun. Celebrity Skin once again seems like the obvious choice, but I dont mind the song.

Overall, its a weird bunch of songs, and weird they announced so many female vocal songs at once.

Kudos HMX, I'm really thrilled with Pixies and YYYs. Garbage and Hole... meh. But I understand why they're in.

Harmonix has been extremely kind to indie/alternative fans so far (and can no one be happy about song selection??!!), so I can understand why metalheads are upset ;)

And I definitely subscribe to the theory of best announcements for last. They seem like they've got a real good handle on song announcements this time around.

I agree, I've said before on a different post that people are putting too much faith in the DLC that's only being speculated and hoped for to be in this game. I thought this game was supose to reach all the different genres, and it has to a degree, but I mean only one metal song announced at this point to how many alternative songs? And the one metal song announced so far is 16 years old. It is a concern of mine that the DLC could go in the direction of an over balanced amount of alternative and indie songs, with very little metal classic rock and other types of genres being offered. But then again, there's still like 9 or 10 songs left for HMX to try to balance things out on this disk. But why would they go in a different direction with the DLC than they are with the game disk itself?

Maps is a phenomenal choice. This is exactly why we have Harmonix put together these setlists. I never would have come up with that song.

The Hole and Garbage selections don't grab me yet, but I don't dislike them. And I realize that nobody on this forum wants to hear this, but including two chick songs with a pop hook will probably double the adoption rate for Rock Band, making the game that much more awesome for all of us.

DLC seems to be the one true aspect that HMX has been pushing, i think with Red Octane gone (they robbed us with GH2) we will see what DLC can offer. Lets give HMX the benefit of the doubt.

I agree rock band needs some maiden but i would pick either Aces High or 2 minutes to midnight over wasted years, not saying it's a bad track i just prefer a faster paced Maiden track to really rock to.

Can I Play With Madness? I perhaps the best Maiden song I have heard. In fact, I'd love to see the entire "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son" album show up as DLC (It's a much better and more intricate album than "Number Of The Beast" Is).

This is just my opinion, but look at the layout right now, it's not very friendly for those who grew up on 60's or 80's music (Just FYI, I'm an 80's child and have some fond memories of the music. I would love to see more announcements so I can get nostalgic!)

who says every decade has to represented equally? They're trying to get songs that work well in the game and are fun, not because it's from a certain decade.

I don't think MTV has too much influence in the game, honestly. I don't think Harmonix would allow someone else to run their show. MTV has helped them immensely, yes, and is probably pushing some songs, but I think Harmonix is making the game they want to make. I don't think they are making the game MTV wants to see...or else it would be called Radio Pop and Rap Band.

Also the positive behind having MTV is that you can get your hands on a majority of the songs you want, and get the master tracks for those songs. We're going to be seeing even bigger bands, I mean Metallica is a good example of this.

ya about that....i entered a name, password, and email address when i signed up for these boards, but it said there was an error or something, so i tried again with a different name, different password, but same email (i only have 1), and it said the email address was already used...but for some reason i remained signed in as wolfmuser, the second name i tried to create an account with, but i cannot send private messages (it tries to make me sign in and when i try it says an error occurred)...and whenever i try to have the sight send me my password via email, i enter my email address and it says it does not exist in their files, but when i try to use it to make a new name, it says my email is already being used by another account....so ya im confused and if anyone knows what to do then spit it out, but now i'll stop rambling and respond to shockwave...

Anyway, 3 good songs and one crap (I HATE Hole)... Otherwise not too bad.

I'm thinking there's a reason they haven't announced any other 60s songs so far, they must be holding back something big. They wouldn't bother promoting this by the decade if there was only ONE 60s' song.
