It was one of the first songs they made for the game and now its not even on the list I was gonna buy the game for that song alone. If its not gonna be on the basic songs you should at least be able to download the Appetite for Destruction album.

it was just for showing an example of an early version of the game. There's a build of Guitar hero with weezer and the long lost "pong" like control interface somewhere at HMX studios. And by someewhere I mean sean's left file cabinet right next to the broken guitar picks and empty coke baggies.

the only thing i dont understand is why would they go through all the trouble of making a note chart and everything if it's not gonna be in the game, and if u listen closely to the guitar, its not the master track, which also leads me to believe they didnt get the master track, so why would they go through all the trouble of making a note chrt and getting a cover band to play the song if it wasnt on the game, just my thought, but im sure it will be DLC someday as AFD album will be im sure

Maybe when it was leaked early, ahead of HMX securing the contract for it, the record studios bumped up their price or Activision swooped on in and were like "we'll give u lots of $$ 4 exklusive lol"

If you think about it, they needed music and note charts to work on the game itself months ago, before we'd even heard of it. Liscensing is a very drawn out process, It can take forever. It makes sense then that they would have to pick out some songs that they want to work on for gameplay, slap together some covers and notecharts, and go from there. But actually getting the rights to those songs would take much much longer.

That's why leaked videos like this are so aggravating to developers. The song wasn't official, it's just a song they were using to work on the game. The video itself was for HMX employees to get them pumped about the game. None of it was for the public, and no one was supposed to get their hopes up that the game would include that song.

Anyway, it's possible you'll see it down the road in DLC, but I wouldn't hold my breath just because of the leaked video.

Exactly. The game engine comes first, to test the game engine you need a SONG, so it's natural they just picked up whatever songs they wanted and played around with it. I bet they've got a build of the game somewhere hidden in hmx with all those juicy songs that didn't make the cut to the game. Anyone willing to hack into the building and get us a copy??
