PS2 Guitar Compatibility

Just wondering , I have 2 Guitar hero guitars for my PS2, Could I use these on my PS3 RB if I had a 3rd party adapter like this?

someone correct me if I'm wrong, but on a site that sold these adapter, I remember reading a warning expressly stating that these were not compatible with GH guitars.

but maybe it's only certain models of adapters, who knows?
