Finally got 5 stars on an expert song with Guitar. Never thought I'd be able to do it.

Just thought I'd share this, cause for me, this is a big deal! :)

this should go without saying because with the strat strummer it's absolutely mandatory, but, trust the hammer ons

Congrats! Once you get one you can't stop though, you'll want another then another.... then you'll want gold stars.

Congratulations! For me getting 5 stars really didn't matter. Actually passing the song was more important. It wasn't until I got gold stars that I was impressed. That started my craze for improving my scores!

I use the Les Paul Guitar.

Also, does anyone know what the cut-off is for Gold Stars?

And can you get Gold Star doing just Bass Guitar? I'm guessing no, because it doesn't save the scores.

I don't know about the Bass guitar to be honest. The cut-off for Gold is like 1.5X the minimum 5* score. So if it was 80K to get 5*, it'll be 120 for Gold.

Looks like you can gold star on bass.

And yes, you can get gold stars playing on Expert bass. If you do it in Quickplay (instead of Practice), your scores don't get saved locally, but they do get uploaded to the Rock Central servers for the Leaderboards (if you're online when you get that score).

Congrats on the achievement.

Just like it was said in another thread, celebrating mediocrity isn't much to be proud of.

You know, some people start off slower than others. When I first started with GH2, I was stoked to 5 star a song on Easy. Now, I've gotten to the point where I've Gold Starred 25 songs, and will go for more once my girlfriend stops playing. Everyone starts somewhere, and they'll only get better.

We all start somewhere. Granted, it ain't gold starring GG&HT, but it was an achievement for the op. Why do you feel the need to come and rain on his parade? Because he is mediocre? I know when I get my first gold star, most likely on the easiest expert song in the game, I will be ecstatic. Will it make me elite? Nope. But I should not, and will not, think twice about sharing my accomplishment with a community of my peers who love this game as I do. Sometimes you just wanna share...with out being ridiculed for how meaningless or trivial someone else thinks your achievement is. What better place to share than this community?

100% agreed with you, on all counts. I can tell you that I was absolutely TERRIBLE at the game at one point, I could barely even pass Medium. But we were all terrible at this game at one point. That's the nature of the beast. I don't even pretend or care enough to be "elite". I just want to have fun and play as well as I can. That's all.

Congrats on your first *****, tom. :)

Thanks to the people who gave positive comments.

Some people are just naturally better at this game than others. I think mediocrity is different for each person. Someone could play for 100 hours on a song trying to get 3 stars on easy, and then finally in the 100th hour the guy finally gets it, and you think that person doesn't have a reason to celebrate? I'm not saying that I played that song for 100 hours, but I played it a lot starting at medium and working my way up.

I wanted to share cause it just seemed like something I would get. I'm sure we all have things in our life that we thought would never happen, and when it did happen, we celebrated, or at least felt the urge to share it with people. And like one of you said, where else better than to share it here.

Oh, don't worry, that won't happen (if ever) for a LONG time.

Every word I read is absorbed into my brain and crapped out through my being an *******ness =] 5 starring the first guitar song in the game is nothing.

but serious, congrats on the OP on what will hopefully be the first of many 5-stars!

At least you're being honest! :)

And it may be nothing to you, but it's still an accomplishment to me.
