Most game developers are not using the Xbox camera. (I don't know about PS3 as I don't own one) Its unfortunate because it has so much potential.

Imagine actually recording your jam sessions or streaming it to be viewed by everyone. Now thats what a Rock Band needs... FANS/Audience

Harmonix, you got everything right in this game. I even complained that we couldn't buy songs in the game itself, and magically there it was, the Music store.

So far I haven't played every game for 360 but I can name 2 games that use the camera *lightly*
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (you can put your face on your player by photo)
Burnout Paradise (you can see the player you hit when you hit them)

Now thats awesome. It makes some use of that camera that just sits there.
Also since there will be no Rock Band 2 we need make this the total package.

So please Harmonix add support for the camera so we can share our sessions with the fans/audience. I'm sure you can agree, a Rock Band without fans or at least an audience is just... well... Not right. Right?

(If you disagree please, constructive criticism only. Even Rock stars can speak intelligently)

I think at most the camera could be used to put your face on your avatar, though it might look a bit funny in the art style. I just don't see how you would implement it. Possibly on PS3 you could put it to use in HOME when it comes out, HOME being a place someone could go to watch it. Maybe in-game? In the online section possibly have a Spectator option? Personally, if we were going to do that, I would rather see the charts being nailed then the ugly mugs of the gamers in their Pj's jamming in their living room.

If we are not going in-game, there's nothing stopping you from using a webcam and YouTube.

I cant say I agree with the whole camera idea. Have you ever filmed your self playing? If you have you would know its any thing but attractive unless you act out and make it fun. Staring into a TV screen gog eyed, pushing buttons wouldn't be too great of a video. I could see it as a way to post your avatar but thats really that only way having a camera would really work.

A screen capturing system (Like Halo 3) also really would be pretty pointless... One FC'd song, screen captured on youtube is enough for me to see... Only if I wanted to keep any FC'd songs for bragging rights to show friends would I ever need it as proof. I'm sorry if I'm coming across harsh; just stating my opinion.

Edit: Also to have live feed from the camera would just clutter up an already crowded screen.
