A lot of people have mentioned the fact that because Rock Band has four instruments it's impossible to have songs like Jessica or YYZ. I was thinking since DLC is completely up to the consumer whether or not they want it they should include songs regardless of if they're missing an instrument and make it just a 1, 2 or 3 instrument song. That way if someone wants to play a song that obviously won't make the Main List because of instrument limitations they still have to opportunity to grab it on DLC. If this has been suggested before, flame away. It's just that I hear a lot about how Rock Band can't have such and such, but Guitar Hero can because it's just Guitar.

I agree. There are tons of songs out there that are amazing without vocals, such as prog rock like John petrucci, Joe satriani and some Dream Theater. All would also be challenging, I think they should release songs with not all 4 instruments through DLC so that good songs won't be missed because of a "missing" instrument.

jessica and yyz just wouldn't be singer capable. they could still be rock band DLC it's just the only thing new to them is drums

if they release albums hopefully we'll find out pretty soon what'll happen because there has to be a song that will not contain one of the four instruments

I have been of the firm opinion that too many top tier bands and songs will be excluded if they stick to a mandatory 4 instrument setup.

YYZ from GH2 is the pefect example, with an awesome guitar, bass, and drum track, but no vocals.

It is definately more situational than a 4 person jamming song through, which is why I supect any and all songs of this type would exist as downloads only. (instrumental pack?)

I was just explaining to my wife tonight that HMX will truly miss their boat if they don't really work the DLC system. Rock Band, out of the box, will be probably decent-to-great to most people. But, with DLC, they can be awesome to almost ALL people.

I'd be disappointed if I didn't see DLC packs like: "Shredding Guitar", "Banging Drums", "Belting Vocals", or even "Thumping Bass". (Names are generic, but you get my drift.) These packs will focus on a certain instrument, and most likely at the expense of another. But the choice is there.

Not to mention, how they can appeal to all the different rock genre fans with DLC. Metal, prog, emo, screamo, alt, classic, southern, hell... even country, whatever... there should be DLC packs for all of them. No fan of rock should walk away from a fully exposed Rock Band and feel there was nothing they want to play/hear.

If HMX pulls that off... instant win for everyone.
