View Full Version : Something the Wii version should have.

The Wii version could at least have famous Nintendo Characters as band members. Bowser on drums would rock. It would help make up for the lack of character creation.
As for the other things there's probably not much hope. As I have said before, I am sure Harmonix sat down way back at the beginning and fully discussed and investigated the different systems and what they were capable of.

Maybe if the game was being made by Nintendo... But this is Rock Band.
HMX has beat them to it. I doubt it would happen. It would be an okay idea if Rock Band hadn't already announce they were coming to the Wii.

Not only have Nintendo characters starred in other companies' games before, but they've been featured in EA games specifically. They're in "NBA Street V3" on the GameCube, for example. A non-EA example is Link in "Soulcalibur II." There are also reverse position cases ("Super Smash Bros. Brawl" is not the only one).
Considering that EA has made this sort of thing happen in the past, it is not at all unreasonable to expect. It is a possibility, but whether they wish to spend the money to make it happen is up to them.

I don't have a Wii either. I was just trying to throw out something I thought of that I think would be kind of cool.

At least the wii is getting Rock Band, but I wouldn't expect any really exciting features since the wii is the least powerful of the current-gen systems, with a tiny hard drive (which means no DLC).
If Nintendo were to approach HMX with models, Mario on Guitar, Boswer on Bass could happen, but Chances are Rock Band doesn't want to pay royalties for Nintendo Characters, driving the price of the game up even higher.

It would be way too much work to adapt them to the rest of the game, since their appearance is so different. Take Bowser, he's like 5 times larger than other characters, so how do you fit him behind a drum?
Next Mario, he's not as tall as other Rock Band characters, so that leaves a lot of problems, like when the guitarist sings with the singer.

I gotta admit, Bowser on drums would kick ***. I wouldn't mind as much if they left out Mario and Luigi though.
I'm hoping for the extended Pokemon theme song as one of the 5 exclusive on disc songs, since I know someone who plans to get this version.

How about before they dish out the cash to add such a feature, they use that cash to add.. I don't know.. online play? Or actual create-a-character? Or BWT? Or DLC?

It didn't affect the price of previous titles which EA included Nintendo characters in, and obviously (in the case of "NBA Street V3") they made the additions fit into the world just fine.
