My kick pedal broke. Not really shocking news to anyone I'm sure, but it's disappointing.
Mine managed to break after owning the game for less than a month of expert play on drums. About a week ago I started noticing the pedal seemed to feel looser than it had before, but I didn't think much of it until low and behold today while playing sychronicity II, the pedal popped right off the base. Seems as though there is a thin piece of plastic connecting to two plastic hooks, and that is all that holds the pedal to the metal hinge at the bottom...
I knew the equipment had problems, I was told that at the store (and that I couldn't exchange it there), I had read it here, and I saw that big flyer in the top of the box explaining the warranty policy, but I figured I would take my chances anyways since this is a great game.
THEY NEED TO REDESIGN THE PEDAL THOUGH! I'm honestly disgusted how horribly built this piece of equipment is, and how it seems that this hardware with known defects is still being distributed. Even if my pedal hadn't broken where it had, there are cracks in two separate spots on the pedal, and it would've snapped in half where the spring is after another month of use at the most.
I hope I don't have the same issues with my replacement pedal, but if I do, I'm afraid I'll just have to sell my game off. I don't see a point having to get equipment replaced on a semi-annual basis, especially when I've already spent $200 on the game and $50 on downloadable content. I know, I have friends who come over with no prior drumming experience who stomp on the pedal, and I cringe to think about what the BRE's do to my equipment, but I would have no problem paying an extra $10-20 for a pedal that is reinforced with metal that won't snapped or crack under pressure.
I fear my red pad doesn't register all my hits either...but I'll stay in denial about that for as long as possible :(

i've had mine for 4 months and still no problems, i've only been playing on expert for a few weeks now, and i've started playing them A LOT more than usual, so i'm sure it won't be long

While you (and everyone else suffering from this problem) have solid complaints, take those $20 you mentioned at the end of the post and get some steel plating.
Yes, it's an after-market solution, but it'll work.
Have a look at the scorehero rockband forums (especially the hardware one) - they have loads of great ideas and tutorials on how to fix semi-broken equipment.

Yeah we had one crack, ended up getting the Omega Pedal (http://www.omegapedal.com) and I cannot stress enough how awesome this thing is. Solidly made, and works so very well.

MY question is what happens when they stop replacing these?? They break easier then an old ladies hip.

well the destroyer pedal is like 64.99 I baught one and I'm waiting on it to ship, it's just one guy making them so it'll be 4-6 weeks, but that's all I've got.

I've started looking briefly at both of the destroyer and omega pedals, and I've considered attempting to repair mine, but I think the way it is broken makes it impossible or at least more work than I feel up to. I've had great fun playing this game, but it just seems a stretch to spend another $60+ for a third party pedal.
I guess it's never a good idea to buy the first generation of this sort of game...
