Guitar Center had a huge pack of Drum Sticks for like 5 bucks. But I am sure they aren't good quality. They are relatively cheap for any brand though.

yeah its actually better to go out and find a good pair your comfortable with ...
bundle 1 i got thin drumsticks with rock band writtin on them ...
bundle 2 i got thicker sticks with no writing and it seemed like the tips were bigger...
the thinner drumsticks i was doing better with so i was lookin for something that size
so i went and spent 7$ and i really like this pair alot better then the old ones much much better....i think even places like wallmart have drumsticks

When I bought a drum throne from Guitar Center I told the dude it was because I'm playing Rock Band, and asked if they had anything I could put on the sticks to quiet them.
I got no "LEAVE NAO" face. I got more of a "OMG FUN" face.

got some new sticks, 6 bux. Told the guy what i needed (Rockband) and he recommended the ones with the plastic tips, he said wood would chew up the pads? IDK they're a bit heavier than the stock ones but i suppose I'll get used to them...

Same here, I was worried about getting laughed out of the store, but when I walked into guitar center and asked, the guy there played Rock Band, he showed me a pair of sticks with rubber tips that he said give the sticks a lot more rebound off the RB drum pads, and also said they make it a bit quieter to play. He was right all around. Only cost me like $6 and theyre a huge improvement, was so glad I went.

LOL, I can't imagine a store denying you a sale because you aren't using the product to their standards, that's just silly. I just went and bought a pair of 5a and 5b Zildjian dips, wood tipped for like 20 bucks for the pair. They work awesome.
Don't know if they chew up the rb drums, I put on gum rubber pads so it's a non issue for me. 5a was plenty heavy enough to register a hit though, even lightly tapping. I think I have an EL kit. 5bs are nice and heavy if you had trouble with the original rb sticks feeling like you were playing with pipe cleaners as I did.

This thread contains all the information you need to know about drumsticks (and probably more than you wanted to know):

5AN = 5A sticks with Nylon tip (some people on here have called it plastic, but it's nylon)

Firth are yummy. That's all we use here (3 drummers in the house). Enjoy 'em!
