Who else wants to see some more Alternative Metal, Alt Hard Rock, Alt Rock in general. There was some in GH1 such as Incubus and The Exies but there are alot of other bands out there such as,

3 Days Grace
30 Seconds to Mars
Alice in Chains
All American Rejects
Bare Naked Ladies
Breaking Benjamin
Chevelle
Coldplay
Cold
Creed
Evanescence
Filter
Finger Eleven
Foo Fighters
Hoobastank
Lifehouse
The Offspring
Red
Vertical Horizon
Staind
Disturbed (let me see you pass Down with the Sickness opening vocals on expert)
Puddle of Mudd

Each of these bands brings something different and a different feeling. The songs have lyrics you can sing along with, good guitar solos, alot of the bands have rock anthems that are heard on the radio all the time. Any of these bands would make for good artists to have for DLC

We NEED an Incubus song! :D
Preferably something like Rogues, but the "popular" setlist would include Anna Molly, which still isn't a bad choice.

I'm all for alt. rock, but besides Alice in Chains, all of those bands suck.

What he said... except Filter is okay too.

Seriously, some of those are my least favorite bands - right after pop-punk bands.

Some of those are pop-punk song... or as I call them "wannabe-mo"

Alice in Chains and Disturbed could handle though.

Well, I was speaking more of Sum41, Good Charlotte or Blink 182. Etc. Although, The Offspring definitely fits also... but I'd take that over the first three I mentioned.

Besides Red Lottery, Fat Lip is the only song I absolutely cannot stand playing from the previous GH games.

Oh, and the MCR DLC pack.. worst $6.25 spent.

no. no. and no.

I like Pearl Jam...STP and all those mid 90s guys.

But a lot....lot, lot lot lot of these guys don't have any solos...of any duration at all... I don't think, for the most part, these songs would as fun to play as say...an old 70s rock anthem...Boston and Zep and what have you...full 1:30 guitar solos...OHHH YEAAAAAAAA

So what? This is not Guitar Hero, songs don't need a guitar solo to be fun. As nice as a 1:30 guitar solo is for the guitarist, the vocalist gets 1:30 of cowbell. And, unless you've got a band like Cream or Rush, the bassist and drummer are also probably going to be bored while guitarist plays with himself.

I'd love some more classic rock, but not if it's the kind where the guitarist strokes his ego any more. To be fair, though, I think we've just about hit the modern rock limit for Rock Band. Kinda lopsided if you ask me...

I'm tired of this crap, sure classic music is good and should be in the game but don't say the game is fun with 1:30 guitar solos, heck with your theory why don't which just throw in songs where the guitarist wails hopelessly on his guitar playing one long solo... I enjoy playing music I know and listen to whether or not it has 2minute solos dosen't matter

Yeah I have to agree. I'd rather play songs I know the words to and are still comonly played on the radio besides classics. We havn't hit any where near the amount of modern rock they could. Most of it so far is early 90's or earlier.

Some classics are better than what is out now (in my opinion, and I'm only 17)... but I agree, I would like to see some more modern music. Incubus ftw :P

I feel so alone, 'gone end up a big ol' pile of them cd's that nobody listens to anymore.

(correct my lyrical follies, please)

Honestly, alot of those bands arent really good at all. Alice in Chains are great and we have Foo Fighters, but I feel we already have some amazing alt Rock Bands in the game already: Radiohead, The Pixies, Nirvana, STP...

Those are some good apples.

EDIT: Some Arcade Fire would be super hot though easy on guitar. My vote is for Keep the Car Running, Neighbourhood #2, or Wake Up (those would work semi well)

Back when I suggested Arcade Fire, you said they wouldn't work. Glad to see you've come around. ;)

I'd vote for Neighborhood 3 (Power Out) or The Well And The Lighthouse. But I'd be happy with most anything.

alternative is such a ****ty name for a genre cuz its just so broad its moronic. under the alternative genre name you have ****ty bands like nickelback lumped in with amazing bands like dredg, oceansize, and "proggy" alternative bands like muse and radiohead.

so with that said depending on wut you mean by alt, then yes alt should be in this game

music genre labels in general are usually never accurate.

That being said... Incubus. Lots and lots of Incubus. "Stellar" was alright, but, there were waaaay better songs on Make Yourself than that, damn near the entire album would've been more fun to play, including "Battlestar Scralatchtica".

But some oldschool incubus would be best. "Summer Romance (Anti-Gravity Love Song)" is one of my all-time faves, although a tad easy on guitar aside from the one riff coming into the vocals. "Psychosilocybin", "Trouble in 421", "Version", "Azwethinkweiz", and "Speak Free" has one of my all-time favorite basslines ever.

I'm definitely looking forward to the awesome DLC possibilities here, there's the potential to open up a huuuge world of music a lot of people didn't know about, or completely forgot about. :D
