I just got through reading the tour dates for the rock band "cross country tour" and I was slightly confused...who chose these locations??? Basically their "tour" is comprised of five cities in California, Las Vegas, two texan cities, a bunch of new england cities and then just enough cities to put one tour within a four state area of everybody else. I guess I don't care that much because I'm going to buy RB anyway, but was it not possible that the people in Sacramento and the people in Oakland could have shared a tour date? Not to mention Los Angeles and San Diego...come on Harmonix these cities are less than an hour apart...I live in Minnesota and I've got the option of driving six hours to milwaukee or six hours to chicago...I'm sure other people have a longer trek to get to a tour location...I mean I love this game, but I don't want to drive to hell and back to play it a couple times (if I'd even get to)...just so that the people in California will be able to bike to five different tours! ;)
Seriously...at least you didn't need to put one in Sacramento and then Oakland...wtf? that actually is biking distance. [EDIT:] I just realized that I was thinking about San Francisco...not Sacramento...I'm stupid.
please don't flame me about population size of cities...I f%&#ing know that California has a larger population...I wasn't born yesterday.
although if we're talking about population it should be mentioned that Minneapolis, MN has a metro population of 3.5 million while milwaukee has a metro area population of 1.7 million...:D just saying...

Yeah, I'm in the twin cities area too, and am kinda pissed that they're visiting Ohio twice.
Oh well, what's done is done. I'll just play it at release.

I am in sacramento and would my parents never want to drive to oakland or even halfway between. Sacramento is perfect. Especially since sacramento isn't really big, me and my friends get to play for a long time!

Man, with every tour for just about everything ever, it's the same thing. They go to Austin, they go to Dallas, and then they get the hell out of the state.
I thought people liked Houston now..

Perhaps you're thinking of San Fansisco and Oakland? Sacramento to Oakland is only biking distance if you regularly compete in the Tour de France.
Not a lot of visits to the south though. And nothing in central US north of Texas.
And KingColon, just come up to Dallas and see the tour with me - It's a lot less humid in this part of the state ;) .

Haha true. I'd only "bike" to the bay if the bike had a big engine on it. y'know, like them motorcycle thingies.
that being said... trips to the bay from sac are ridiculous unless you drive at 1am.

come to think about it... where will the individual locations be released? cause... I need to know this asap. possibilities of my band doing a guerilla-style show in the vicinity hang in the balance. :D

Bus tours suck. They don't actually want to hit every one of the 50 states, no matter how 'fair' that might be, because its a pain in the ass. So, yeah, they're going to cluster some locations together.
tf5_bassist, your locations and dates are here: http://www.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=4017

I think he meant the actual locations, such as which building or school.
Does anyone know how much money this would be,any guesses on how many setups, etc?

According to the site, they'll be releasing details for specific locations individually (earlier visits getting details first I assume) and there will be a site put up for all this info tomorrow at http://www.rockband.com/tour.
