As you know, I also posted the "System of a Down lovers unite" thread, and there were people that came in just to hate on them. Well, heres your chance to hate on them more. System was alledgedly trying to get in to Rock Band and/or GH III earlier, but for some unkown reason, were denied by Sony. Would anyone know why this would be?

I don't wanna sound like a dick (I love SOAD), but source?

I know, I'm skeptical of one of Systems members talking to his brothers friends....
Plus, this is GH III, not Rock Band, apologies. Also, its for PS2, so it could be a totally different dispute.
And yes, I love SOAD too, I'm not the bad one here don't worry.

Hmmm...
Well, maybe SOAD asked to get in a little too late, and the setlist was already full.

Maybe it was determined that Hole was better than System of a Down?

Don't see how Sony would haven't anything to do with it.
Anyways, random stranger posting on a forum = 99% chance BS.

SOAD's record label is Sony-BMG.

Perhaps they're going to made PS3 exclusive DLC for Rock Band.

SOAD's record label is Sony-BMG.
Ahh.. gotcha.
Has that label allowed any of their stuff on either game?

Sucks if it's true. Plus says guitar hero, not rock band right?
Anyway, tis weird if it is sony, seen as Aerosmith were talking about working with the next rock band/ gh if i remember right.

Iron Maiden,Ozzy and Black Sabbath too. Found it real strange they handed over Maiden for the 360 GH 2 and not the PS2 one.

I may have mucked up the details and since I saw this a long time ago I can't even remember the source. but sony BMG was the label that stopped a song from being in GH2. They had all the other permission and rights from the band and every one else, but for what ever reason the label wasn't going to let this happen.
That song? The Trooper by Iron Maiden. I've never heard how they pulled that off.
EDIT - lol damn, you beat me to it.

Yeah, I think we'll just cast this one in the rumor pile for now, eh.
And even if it is true, i'm willing to bet that plenty of bands get turned away when they're like "oh hey, we wanna be in your game." I doubt gave developers are making special exceptions for them, just to be dicks.
(and seeing as it's not RB related, lets move the thread :))

I can't imagine that they don't want to be in the game. I mean, don't they love videogames? Didn't they sing the Legend of Zelda Song?

SOAD isn't my favorite band, but they're pretty good. i definitely wouldn't mind one of their songs in this game, but that's too bad if this is true. can we get sean to confirm/deny this?

SOAD deserves to be in the game! They have so many awesome and great songs! I would rather prefer them be in RB because i want to act like John :D
