About new songs and DLC

Now, we have had a few big songs announced this week. Four songs in the game and 18 Grateful Dead songs. I have read mostly positive posts but I just want to say some things to the complainers. SHUT UP. Every time new songs get announced, I read a lot of 'No Metal, WTF'. It is pretty clear that there isn't a lot of metal in this game. I think the reason is it's an all band thing. If you want metal get GH. You know what the one thing I don't like about GH....The Metal. I like the music but I don't want to shred all day long. The point is to have fun and I personally don't with metal. We do have Metallica that is great.

Also, to those who want certain bands and when we get them, you complain that it's not your favorite song. SHUT UP too. I love the Pixies. I happy to have them in the game. Is 'Wave of Mutilation' my favorite song? No, but that is okay because I'm hoping for more DLC to come and that is what you people should see. At least your band is in the game. That is step one.

I know some of you will complain about this post and I don't want to be rude but just be happy that: A) This is shaping up to be a great game... and B) It does have a very big selection of songs.

On another note, which version of 'Wave of Mutilation' are we getting? The album version I suppose but wouldn't it be cool to get the B-side "UK Surf" version. I know it's more mellow but I love the drums in that one.

You are going to get a lot of complaints. Let me start off by saying a few things, first don't tell everyone to shut up, that is not a great way to get yourself noticed on these boards, besides the fact that both you and them are entitled to their opinions about the game.

Just because people don't like a song doesn't mean they are wrong and does not mean we need to put them down. By attacking people on the forum by saying "shut up" you are simply singling people out and starting what could turn into a thread just about bashing each other.

Also if you knew people would complain about this post, why would you even make it?

To answer your question, "Wave of Mutilation" will most definitely be the album version.

I agree with the senitiment of your post CMG4894 but unfortunately we realize that although cathartic this plea will prove ineffective and people will likey jump all over it. I agree with you though about the incessant complaining. For me it's just a downer on the official RB board...song suggestions are fine - demands are idiotic...:)

To answer your question, "Wave of Mutilation" will most definitely be the album version.

It's not that suggesting songs are wrong or that wanting songs is wrong. But new songs come out and people complain, bad mouth HMX about crap. I'm no kiss ass but I want this game to do well. If all people do is complain what is the incentive for HMX to release more songs via DLC? It's like a little kid, if they just complain about everything you do are going continue doing it? No, you will forget about it. I like the fact the HMX seems to take into consideration what the fans want. But if people complain they might just start doing what they want and release what ever songs get them the most money up front (Bonuses from a label for putting a certain group in the game) and not listen to what we want.

That is my point with this post. I really don't care what people think about me on these boards. Everyone likes to be like, but if I become hated for telling people to grow up then so be it. I've been here for a couple of months now, and try to carry myself with class and self respect. If that is not enough for the people here then fine.

Actually, there isn't a lot of metal in Guitar Hero. In fact, the ratio of metal to rock in Guitar Hero is only slightly higher than that of Rock Band.

GH ratio of metal to rock- 13:34

Rock Band ratio of metal to rock- 4:29

Keep in mind that they don't even include the "WTF INSANE" songs from bands like Symphony X, or Dream Theater. Oh, and Dream Theater is probably one of the only metal bands I could see work in Rock Band.

Actually, Harmonix has said they're really closely following what people say on these boards as far as the setlist is concerned. So my thinking is, people are complaining to get noticed. If they didn't say anything, then Harmonix wouldn't know what they want

Oh my god I said 'shut up'. I don't personally attack anyone and don't use or even need symbols in my posts. I think there is one edited by the mods and it wasn't that bad. After reading most posts on these boards (and a lot of yours), I do consider I carry myself here with class.

i just youtubed all the songs in Rock Band most are pretty good and will be fun too play even though i don't listen to most of them on my ipod or anything, GH III and Rock Band have very fun songs to play, Muse is in GH III and i listen to them so that is cool
so my point is BOTH GAMES ROCK GET BOTH
