Microphone error on multi song sets - PS3

I am playing the World Tour on PS3. Once and awhile during multi song sets, the game pauses for a couple of minutes between songs and a screen pops up saying the microphone has been disconnected even though it hasn't. Unplugging the mic has no effect. Turning the controller off and on has no effect. The only option is to quit since the resume choice is grayed out. Has anybody else experienced this? Is there a fix?

I am having this problem right now and I'm on the 40th song of the endless setlist... I'd hate to lose everything...
