Which Second PS3 Guitar Will You Get?

The Nyko or the Stand-alone Strat?

Seems the strat is completely identical to the stand-alone strat. (Won't bother asking why we had to wait three months since it seems to be the exact same product, but w/e)

Seems the Nyko will support both RB and GHIII in case I ever felt compelled to actually get guitar hero. It might be a few dollars cheaper too, but not sure if that makes a difference if it ends up being an inferior product.

Right now I'm tilting toward the Nyko just so that if I ever picked up GHIII I'd have a second guitar but if it seems like it's getting thrashed in reviews I might just pick up another strat.

Which will you be getting, and why? If this thread is still alive by Tuesday feel free to post your review if you get one.

How is the Nyko one even an option? No solo frets - no thanks. That's not a Rock Band guitar, it's a GH guitar which happens to be somewhat compatible with RB.

You should select the "I'm thinking about waiting until another third party comes out with another one" option. The Nyko and Strat guitars are coming out this week while you will be waiting 1+ weeks for the TAC.

I went with the Black Freedom V (http://store.theantcommandos.com/product-p/drv-wl-blkv3.htm). I'm hoping it won't be too cheapy for the feel, but having a second controller on my PS2 for my older GH games and one for both GH3 and Rock Band for only $50 sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

Strat is the best to me. My switch from playing GH and learning how to use the Strat was very strange, but I can use the Strat was better and now have a hard time using anything else!

Just play the drums and everything is solved. Then you don't have to worry about what guitar to get!!!

Just out of curiosity I checked the local availability on it. None available within 100 mile of me just yet. Either way, I'm dead set on trying the Widowmaker. I love the look (minus the GH style buttons). It represents the Bass, which will be it's main purpose. It will also allow me to play GH games if I so please. Plus I can hook it up to my belt buckle and spin it ZZTop syle for overdrive. Now all I need is some ZZ DLC.

I want the Nyko because of it's functionality, and it's coming out soon. The TAC could be better, but I'm not waiting that long.

For me personally, forget the Strat. It only works in one game, and I don't care for the strum bar. To each his own.

Figure I might as well stick with what I know. I got a strat.
I could always sell or return it and get another one if they're better.
I didn't like the Front Man on the PS2 'cause the fret buttons were slightly more spaced out.. And it made a big difference.

Im waiting on that Ps2 to PS3 adapter from TAC aswell. If not, ill wait until the V or widowmaker makes it way to store shelves so I can test it out before buying it. My Frys usually gets a ton of 3rd part guitars instead of the official ones (no idea why) so Ill give it a feel, then if not, im going with the 2nd strat.

All the newer TAC guitars that are coming out this month are compatible with everything but the 360, from what i can tell. They'll work on the PS3 and PS2 and all games on them. They don't claim to work for PS2 GH games on the PS3 through BC, though, so I'm still holding onto my PS2.

Someone did e-mail them and ask about playing the PS2 game on the PS3, and they did say they were compatible. However, the response was given in broken English and didn't seem very professional, so I have my doubts the person responding truly knew what they were answering. I have the most hope for the TAC controllers. My guess, though, is that they won't support the PS2 games on the PS3, and that the extra fret buttons are just duplicates and won't work like the Strat's solo fret buttons.

I truly hope I'm wrong, though.

I will buy a Strat just to have a spare one onhand.

Having one fail in the middle of a set and having to cut the concert short, REALLY pisses off the fans.

Having a spare one in the house seems like a no brainer.

WHY doesnt anyone make a FULL SIZE guitar for full grown men to use?
