"Today marks the eighth birthday of one of the most underrated and unappreciated consoles ever to hit the market, The Sega Dreamcast. The little system gave birth to some really great games including Crazy Taxi, Soul Calibur, Rez, Wetrix, PowerStone, and many others. Although it didn't do to well commercially and eventually left the market when some heavy competition appeared on the scene, The Dreamcast nevertheless garnered a rabid cult -like following. Despite it's failure on the commercial front, the system still lives on thanks to the tireless efforts of homebrew creators and fans, giving extended life to an otherwise dead system. So, Happy Birthday Dreamcast, we hardly knew ye."

This is why I hate Playstation, and refuse to buy any more of their consoles. The DreamCast, I was saving up for that for so long, my mates had em and I was even begging the people I don't like to go round just for one more game of PowerStone... but no. Welcome to capitalism. No refund, terms and conditions apply etc.

I wouldn't blame Sony for the Dreamcast's failure. Sega had long since lost all faith in their consoles. Everything after the Genesis: Sega CD, 32x, Saturn - when Dreamcast came out I knew the same thign was gonna happen. There'd be a few games with the release of the system and then like 10 more over the next year and then basically nothing.
Dreamcast had some awesom games, though.

the dreamcast was cool thoughI find it quite ironic that a game meant to be multiplatform, built for the N64, and planned for a Dreamcast port (which they say it's code still floats around the interwebs), can be so ignorantly tagged to one system. Especially since Nintendo got ports of all of them but MGS 3 and MGS 2 was multiplatform. Even worse is when everybody *****es about MGS4 on 360 like it ruins the PS3 version or something.
Sorry but MGS fanboys annoy the hell out of me because they hold onto their PlayStations so snuggly but are so ignorant of the titles history.

mgs 2 and 3 were released for the ps2 therefore they're ps2 games, i don't care if it was built for 64 or dreamcast, fact is it was released for ps2 and thats the only reason why i bought the damn system.
and i actually like nintendo and xbox more than sony FYI, and i actually hope MGS4 gets ported to the 360 so that i won't have to buy the ps3. way to assume man

Apparently you missed the point of my final paragraph. I know I was going off for no real reason, and I never assumed you were a fanboy. I said it annoys me how everybody links MGS to Sony and the PlayStation. If you got offended I apologize.
Why would you call me an *******? What the hell did I do to you? Just wondering on what basis you choose to assume.

Has it really been eight years already? Wow I remember getting it for Christmas, getting Test Drive 6 and Sonic Adventure, so good, I miss my Dreamcast so much, I should take it out again and play it. What an amazing system.

Loooove me DC. Bought my first game for it before the system even came out (a few were released ahead of time). I still play mine. Tokyo Bus Driver!!!! And yeah, Jet Set (Grind) Radio = one of the greatest DC games period.
