Another GH imitation....but it's amazing!!!!

There's Frets on Fire, there's Freetar Hero, but now, there is the best GH imitaion of them all: Guitar Zero! It is, pretty much, Guitar Hero, seeing as it features menus that look exactly like GH menus and the same exact fretboard, notes, score, rock meter, and star power displays as in GH. There are no animated stage videos in the background like GH, but it features a panning shot of a little stage with the whole band setup in the middle of a huge place with tons of arrows pointing to it (as seen in the pic below). There are just a few songs in the game, but available on the stepmaniamedia website (http://www.stepmaniamedia.com/index.php?id=guitarzero) is a download of all of the GH1 and 2 songs to put into the game, but it takes like and hour and a half to download so, if you feel like waiting, you can enjoy all the GH songs on GZ. But, anyway, like FoF and Freetar, you can use a PS2 or XB360 GH controller for it which I highly recommend over a keyboard, but only use a keyboard if you don't have a PS2 to USB adapter (which can be purchased at Radio Shack) because it would suck to, pretty much, be playing GH on the computer with a keyboard. It would SUCK! But, check this game out. It really is awesome to play such a close imitation of GH on the computer and, once you download all of the GH songs, you could use your laptop and be playing GH on the go, which, as you know, is a lot harder to do with a PS2 or 360. So, go to http://www.stepmaniamedia.com/index.php?id=guitarzero and download the top left DL, but you'll have to register to the site to DL it, which takes literally 2 minutes. Also, the site is in spanish, but a lot of the words are easily translated by just looking at them, so you'll be fine.

Careful. This was made by a guy from Scorehero. It was great and all, but Redoctane or Harmonix asked them to remove it, because it was too close to GH.

Sorry for not telling you, use WinRAR to extract the files and use them. You can download it here (http://www.soft32.com/Download/free-trial/WinRAR/4-175-1.html). If it doesn't work for some reason, search 'winrar' in Google (www.google.com) and I'm sure you'll find another download site.:D

Sorry guys. I was mid-reply when HMX out of freakin' nowhere updated the site to be the best website EVER and messed up what I was typing. Ok, to answer your question IErrantVentureI, when you go to the Guitar Zero folder, theres a WinRAR file with the 3 books as it's icon named 'Guitar Zero'. Click on it and it should take you to WinRAR where you then extract that folder and it's contents to the Guitar Zero folder. Then, within the folder there is a 'Guitar Zero' application file with a 'Z' as it's icon. Click on that and it will take you directly to the game without any installation wizard or anything. I hope that helps you dude!:D

I dunno man. I've only used the PS2 GH Controller so far. I'll try a 360 Guitar and try to figure it out for you. That's the best I can do. :D

EDIT: Never mind. I unfortunately found it. I had to edit my Xplorer on my computer changing the D-Pad's Up and Down to Y- and Y+, but it locked some of the keys (1 and 4 which happen to be Green and Yellow) causing it to work improperly. Then I had to fix it with Device Manager, but after the first shot, it wouldn't allow me to access the controller anymore, causing this all to be irreversible. Use caution with this if you want to use the 360 Xplorer.
