I've gone to this festival since it started in '06 and have been very pleased by the way in which it is booked and run. This year looks like it will be no different.

With the exception of STP, we got seriously shafted. Virgin Fest is supposed to have bands on the list that never go to that particular city. ALL of these bands have been here before (including STP), and most of them, are here on a regular basis (ie. at least twice a year). I am so choked. I was totally planning to go to this since Warped is going to be bust this year as well (IMO there aren't any bands I want to see there either).

I shouldn't complain, because at least our city gets these festivals, but still, what's the point in having them if it's the same old same old?

Plus, I think the Foo Fighters hate us. They skipped Calgary in their last tour, and they are doing it again. They are gonna be at the other Canadian V Fests, but not Calgary. Not a huge loss, I've seen them twice before.

Playoff hockey.. yeah... too bad the Sharks are going to pick up and drop the Flames wrestlemania style. The Red Mile is going to be noisy tonight though.

On another note:

I haven't seen STP either, but do I want to pay $75-125 to just see them? I guess the other bands will be there too. If you count them. heh.

You think the Foo Fighters hate you? Dave is FROM my hometown of Columbus, OH (just outside anyways) and I think they've played here one time.
