How come no mention of PS2

Now I already know there is going to be a PS2 version as they have already confirmed that.

What I am wondering is why with the site redesign is there no mention at all of the PS2 version anywhere. all it keeps saying is coming to the Xbox 360 and playstation 3.

it is in the news article about rockband coming to europe if you dig deep enough but thats kind of buried.

I would think they would have it mentioned on the main site to prevent us lowly PS2 owners from having to troll through the forum for confirmation. but then again maybe we are not important enough or maybe they did not mention it as the PS2 version is Europe only (thats a guess) ;)

I've always found it rather interesting that there's going to be a PS2 version of RB... First off, bummer about no DLC (unless, however, it also comes with the ps2 harddrive lol...

second, RB is the reason i even have a 360. :D

I guess it's because it was announced for the European market, there was no mention of it coming to the U.S at Leipzig but many assumed it would come State side, i dunno maybe it is just Europe after all.. it's not due until next year so maybe HMX will say something about it after the main PS3/360 launch.

I doubt it would be anything to do with a HDD drive, it would be more to do with the fact that there is no payment and transfer options with the PS2 and there is also no store for you to connect to, kind of hard to purchase DLC when there is no means to pay and receive them.

Yeah as far as i know the ps2 version isnt getting a US release. Could be wrong.

Eh, true, EA/MTV/HMX/Sony/whoever would have to set up an independent store for the ps2 alone. it's not hard to do so, it'd just be horridly redundant, i'd guess.

can anyone answer WHY there'd be a European RB for PS2, and not stateside? Perhaps due to the cost of next-gen consoles overseas? Because those consoles haven't penetrated the marketshare enough? Or something else I'm just not thinking of?

Even without DLC, they have already talked about future releases of content on discs, so people with PS2 wont be missing too much.

I don't think EA/Harmonix/MTV is stupid enough to not release a version of the game on the system with the largest install base in the US. It doesn't make sense. I'm almost positive we'll see a stateside release of the PS2 one, it's just not their focus now as there's still 6+ months until it comes out.
