title says it all
vasoline: i cant gold star this one for some reason. i miss probably one not during the second verse and three notes during the solo, and it still wont get let me get a gold star.
welcome home: this one i cant fc. the only reason is because i keep ****ing up during the bridge (the part before the solo) for some reason
smokin: im never going to gold star this. at first i got like 180k, but now i cant even get more than 150k
rock and roll band: cant fc this. missed one note somewhere near the end of the song, and now i cant fc the trill at the beginning for some reason, so im never going to try to fc this song again

There's only one song in the game I'm genuinely concerned/positive I'll never FC/Gold star.

That is Thrasher. On Guitar. It is evil. And I may need Tommy John Surgery for my elbow after I play it.

Flirtin' With Disaster. I can't for the life of me get those oddly timed hammer-ons down. Also Thrasher, but I don't even have it, so no worries there.

Probably Creep as well, because I'm so sick of trying that I wouldn't be surprised if I never played it again. Ever.

Take your pick with the really high-end stuff. But the most annoying "I'll never gold star this!" song for me is "Blitzkrieg Bop" on guitar. I swear to the nine gods, it don't matter how much I play that song (and I have played it much), I manage to screw something up Every. Single. Time. It's ridiculous.

I can sympathize, it is the only song in the first two tiers I have yet to gold star.

That's the only song I've ever gold-starred singing and playing guitar at the same time. I was proud. Do you do alternate strumming? It makes that song much easier.

I will probably never gold star Brainpower - maybe when I get a better guitar. I effing hate the super-fast keyboard part, and I'm too stubborn to learn the "play it like a keyboard" method.

Alt strumming that song is actually pretty difficult to get a rhythm down unless you alt strum all songs that are like that.

I'm a big fan of alt strumming. Not only is it easier on your hand, it's easier on your guitar. Plus, if you don't get good at it, you'll never gold star a song like Creep. Plus plus, your friends will ooh and aah.

I've only FC'd 3 so far. "I Think I'm Paranoid," "Mississippi Queen," and "Gimme Shelter." The first two are because they're pretty simple, and third because I play it religiously.

The one I don't think I ever will- "Limelight." I come within a couple hundred of points, but can never quite get it. I play it until my fingers bleed, but it just isn't happening.

And then the obvious ones...like everything else.

I know what FCed means, but what does it stand for?

Full Combo.

Full Combo. Keep your combo the whole song. Even if you get 100% but overstrummed to hit all notes, it doesn't count as an FC.

You know this brought up an interesting point; all of the GH games. I could alt strum the hell out of them. All day. Long.

I'd play to the drum/bass and everything would flow so smoothly.

Enter: Rock Band.

Forget about it. Maybe 10% of the songs I could practically FC on the GH series. I break the rhythm on RB usually after the first 8 or 9 notes in a constant stream... sometimes I can alternate between alt strum and down strum every three or four notes and this helps a bit.

Just curious why though... is it really the accuracy difference? I'm almost positive that the GH's made by harmonix had a pretty tight window, less than GH3 for sure.

Either way, to answer the OP:

Seven
Blitzkrieg Bop
Highway Star
Go With The Flow

Although I can 5* all of them every time... sucks.

I've done it alt strumming, I've done it down strumming. I'd do it tongue strumming if I thought it would work (and wouldn't give me a reputation I'd rather not have).

I've gold starred everything in its tier, the tier before, and the tier after. I've gold starred songs three tiers above it. There's just something about that one song. Every single time I try, I just muck something up. Lose my rhythm, don't fire star power when I should ... you name it, I've probably done it wrong. What's most frustrating of all is that even my suck on that song isn't consistent; it's something different and wrong every time.

I'm about 10k off, according to the Scorehero list. And I tell you, the second I get it, I'm throwing a frikkin party. You're all invited, BYOB.

You've goldstarred Brainpower? GGaHT is cake due to all the extra points you get with the solos.

How are you on songs like "Stop" and "Crazy on You"? Those are songs where you will learn quickly the art of alt strumming. Also, do you play more by sight or by ear? I find with strummy parts, it's much easier to play by ear. Strum like you would on a real guitar at those parts. It's the only way I can gold star songs like Creep. If I tried to hit every note by sight, I'd miss a ton.
