Because we do not have any details yet about Rockband , I'm assuming the career mode might follow the same as the Guitar Hero series but I'm sure I'm completely wrong on this one.

So which song would you like to have as the leadoff song to begin your career?

I'd like it to be "Rock & Roll Band" by Boston

*this is not a setlist as described by the forum description but since I'm an old fart, it would have nothing but classic rock which would bore the majority here.

I didn't like either of the opening songs in GH1 or 2. It's a hard thing to choose. Does it really matter?

I'd be pretty happy if it was Boston's Rock'n'Roll band actually. I'd never even heard that song b4, but i like it.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=kGIAc3DHa6I this video has better audio of the song although the visuals are somewhat questionable.

It's funny that you posted the claymation version. It has the original version but I was afraid to review it before posting and I didn't know. It's much better than the live one I found. It sounded pretty bad.

And that claymation is hysterical. They did a good job with it. Sorry for the loss of the lead singer - LOL (It's not graphic and it's something every kid does to clay people).

Same here with the opening song for GH series. IMO, they didn't hit on the theme of the game which I thought this song could easily do for this game.

Glad you liked the song. I got through highschool listening to this band. Some would argue that all their songs sound the same but for me, so what. I like the sound :)

My recommendation for a lead off song would be "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. Not terribly difficult (power chords, straight-forward bass, drums are creative) and immediately recognizable. Another really good one would be "Back in Black" by AC/DC. Awesome, seminal, rocking.

I sure would like to see "Tom Sawyer" by Rush somewhere on this thing.

Stairway to Heaven, Stairway to Heaven and Stairway to Heaven. Maybe Immigrant Song or Kashmir too, but DEFINITIVELY STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN. How can you just think "Rockband" or "Guitar Hero" without Jimmy "ZoSo" Page?

Panama - Van Halen
Wouldn't it be cool to get this before GHIII?
(although, should it make it there too, I would be happy)

Stairway is somewhat played out. I'd rather play "Since I've Been Lovin' You".

"Rock & Roll Band" by Boston would be utterly fantastic.

The Man Who Sold the World by David Bowie would be nice.

The first song shouldnt be hard, but it needs to be recognised (Did I write that wrong ><). So I a good choice could be Judas Priest - Living After Midnight. Everyone knows this one right? ^^

Those are all good songs but I was looking for the one song to kick this game off in the theme of the game, Rockband.

Rock & Roll Band is about a rock band starting out and gets an offer to sign with a record company.

If anyone hasn't heard of this song, I encourage you to read the lyrics at this link (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/b/boston/rock+roll+band_20023068.html).
I'd post them here but I don't know where HMX stands on posting copyrighted lyrics.

Isn't it? I think it matches perfectly with the game.
