Has anyone else noticed, while watching RB videos over these past few months, the user interface has changed a few times? Not the progression bars and meters, that is, I mean the colors of the note charts and shapes of the notes. It seems the most popular style is the kinda rectangular notes that take up the whole chart when they come to you, so if there were 5 at the same time the whole chart would be filled for that beat.

But I bring this up because in the one IGN video for Dead or Alive (just for example. I'll get a link later) had small kinda glowey notes that I thought were really awesome. I dunno if they just changed their minds or what.

The reason I bring this up is what if they offer different choices of note styles? Different UIs? Wouldn't that be sweeeet? Just thought I'd throw that out there. Sorry this post is pretty incomplete, I'm in class right now, lol.

Yeah they've just been refining it with each new build of the game. I dunno about it being something u can choose to change.

I did really like it way back when they were still the same style as in GH. And the drums had different symbols depending on weather it was a symbol or snare/tom. That wouldve come in handy if they do support midi drum sets.

Blech, the new style give an actual difference to HO/POs (little circle vs big square). I also think drums symbols would be tacky and make everything harder to read, especially on rolls or fast fills.

I have always thought that it would be cool to have some custom UI features in the options menu. For example, the ability to choose different skins/colors/models for the note gems.

In this case, I think they were simply refining the interface and we all saw the "work in progress" so to speak.

Well, if any of you have played Amplitude, or happen to have been a former subscriber to the now non-existant Official PlayStation Magazine (OPM), in one issue's demo disc there was a trick for Amplitude where you could change the jems into monkey heads. I did it and it's fuhreaking schweet. Maybe they'll do something like that in Rock Band?
