it sure is. the modding will be awesome (and basically everyones going to get whatever songs they want for free), whether activision wants it or not.
unless they implement a star force kind of protection, which in that case someone will crack then no one will buy the game, everyone will just pirate.
we shall see how this pans out.. but I'll probably wind up getting it for PC in addition to 360 because of the modding that will happen

I'd be so pissed off if they announced that. :|
I could have held off on my 360 purchase for another year. :|
Edit: Of course, my PC isn't situated well for setting up the entire Rock Band kit, but I could convince myself to move it into another room to save $500+. ;)

Who wants to play RB at their PC? The screen's too small and the audio isn't a stereo system.

I think it would be tough to get Rock Band on PC, just the screen size it self would be annoying, as well as having all that stuff plugged into your computer. I don't really like the idea of it being on the PC.

Rock Band would be awful as a PC game. There's so much more going on in the game than with GH, and I can't imagine 4 people huddled around a monitor. It was really designed for the console experience. I wouldn't be interested in RB for the PC at all.

RB is much more suited to a widescreen tv than a widescreen monitor. Plus, wtf would buy all the instruments for the pc?? makes no sence, but you could watch porn and play at the same time..hmm, nm ill buy pc version lol

I think the real point is that it can be modded or hacked to allow for custom songs easily, as you know most games on the PC have mods for them. And, with GH, and of course RB's popularity you know it would happen.
Second, why would you have to have 4 people around a monitor? How about online play with thousands of people at their own monitors...

Just wait till they mod GH for all instruments, plug in your RB instruments, and SHAZAAM!!!

Pretty much the same opinion. I prefer my HDTV and 5.1 Surround

If that's true, then why is the topic title "Rock Band on PC?"

I'll be getting Guitar Hero III for the 360 and PC now. Achievements and modding aren't made to be together. Anyway, I'll definitely hack my own songs into it. I'll just make them with Frets on Fire, then input it into the game. I have this sweet note chart for Motley Crue's You're All I Need that I'll put in it.
EDIT: Couldn't you just hook up your computer to your HDTV?

Oh... Im ******ed...
It seems like it would be lot harder to sell/protect DLC if the game was on PC, I don't see that happening...

I hope you are kidding. If you think the process will be the same with this game as it was on GH2 (TOTALLY DIFFERENT ENGINE) you are fooling yourself.

I know it's totally different. But I can't pull a note chart out of my ass. I wish I could, but the song would come out ****ty.

I have a PC hooked up to my 65" HDTV. It's good for playing downloaded videos without having to convert them and burn them to disc.

Well considering I know plenty of people who's PC monitors are the same size if not bigger than their TV's
Couple that with the fact that those same people have 5.1 surround speaker setups in their systems that would put most home stereo systems to shame I don't see this as a bad thing.
IMO it could actualy work out to be a damn good marketing move as there are still alot of people that don't even own consoles and do all their gaming on their PC's
HMX would be opening up a whole new market for themselves if they released a PC version.
Obviously the guys over at activision have thought of this

How does GH coming to PC relate to Rock Band?
Rock Band clearly would never work on PC, unless HMX wants lots of people crammed in front of their computer screen
