No stand alone guitars in Quebec?

I live in Quebec and I have really looking forward into buying a second strat to complete my band. (not a lesPaul, i tried one and hated it)

I have been searching in stores the whole week and they all said the same thing: "We know that it came out, but we don't have it and we don't know when we will get it."

but one guy in the EBgames said that it was because the box wasn't in french and the law 101 forbid it or something like that

anyone in quebec have been able to buy a new strat in a quebec store?

I also want to know if HMX is going to put a bilingual box for retailing in quebec...

This is not a Quebec-only issue, it's a Canadian issue. Packaging in all of Canada, by law, must be bilingual. That's why the release of the game itself was delayed back in December and people were driving down to the U.S. to pick it up. I live in Toronto and we still don't have them yet either.

By the way, your English is pretty good - keep at it, it's worth it. I'm French Canadian too and I sure couldn't write English like you when I was 16 and I now work in English.

Are you referring to the Strat? They are all over Toronto! I know for certain that Wal-Marts, TRUs, and EB Games have them. Someone reported seeing them at HMV as well.

Thank you for the info. As of Thursday, I hadn't seen any available. I will make sure to pick one up before they fly off the shelf.

The Futureshop site shows the guitars as being "Bilingual" and are "not available"... so the packaging issue might indeed be the problem.

Ebgames, futureshop and wal-mart didn't have a single Strat here. (Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, Quebec)

Ebgames even said in May. WTF?

As of Quebec city, I've been told they would be available this week... so just be patient ;)

I bought a pre-used strat last week... tho I might just return it to get a brand new one since the tilt sensor seems to be way too sensitive

I can add Best Buy to the list of retailers where I've seen the standalone Strats (in Toronto).

I also want to add that I looked at the box closely at TRU, and it is definitely NOT bilingual packaging. It's all English.

In Manitoba they're available for PS3 and 360...at least around here...

Don't feel bad. The Nyko's have almost not been spotted anywhere save for a few random sightings in the U.S. The thing is impossible to find. :(

Really? These were the PS3 FrontMan guitars? (not PS2 or Wii?)

I found all kinds of RB guitars (the official ones) in Mississauga ON - just west of Toronto. My local HMV, Wal-Mart and Futureshop stores had tones of X360 guitars and a few PS3 guitars. This was on Friday the 11th so I'm not sure how the stock situation is right now though. I just checked the Futureshop website and they're showing that all my local stores are sold out now of both X360 and PS3 guitars. :(

Nyko Frontman for PS3 wireless with the switch for both game ? or you mean the PS2 version (I saw a couples of PS2 version at Best Buy).

If its for PS3, ill go there for sure.
