Hello,

Sometimes I can swear that intruments, particularly a background guitar, are cutting out or have a lowered volume. There is a Boston guitar solo that starts out so quiet I can't even hear it for a bit.

Also, when I play tug-a-war on guitar versus a local player, player one is always very quiet when playing alone while player two plays at a normal volume while playing alone.

I've had similar experiences. There are times when you're playing the notes - typically in the begining of a song, and you can see that you've played the note, but no sound.

The opposite is, all of a sudden, the volume on the entire game seems to double. We have two small children, so my wife and I tend to play at night. The youngest's room is right above where we play, and when the volume suddenly jumps, we're afraid he's going to wake up.

I think it happens when you go into overdirve - especially on vox - but even when the overdrive is over - and this is the part that prompts me to post - the volume doesn't go back to normal.

You should try making sure that your TV is compatible with the sound output you have selected in your console. For instance, if you choose surround output but have no home theater, the odds is that some sounds are just gonna cut off or sound very low because there are no speakers to play them. Just set the output to normal stereo and if that doesn't work, then I don't know what the problem is

I tried messing with that. on my standard def, for some reason, it was set to dolby digital (even though i didnt have dolby digital on that tv) and it still worked fine. On my new tv, i still dont have dolby digital and i've tried both settings (dolby and sterio) and it still has random volume levels in game when playing.
