ok so my problem is i got rockband on ps2 as a gift and i have a 60gig ps3 that has the 4port usb built into the ps3. when i started to play i noticed that i could only have 2 players at a time. drum n guitar or drum n microphone and vice versa. when i tried to play 3 n 4 player using the usb plugs on the ps3, it still wouldnt work so when i plugged all 3 into the rockband usb spliter it came with. only the ps3 remote was working. any clue on how to fix this guys? i want to play with 4 people but i cant!!!

TIA!!

I know this may seem like a stupid question...but is the USB hub plugged in? If it is, you got a bad hub. Go to the store and get a new one.

well the usb hub is plugged in. but even if used the usb plugs on the ps3 without the rockband usb plug still only 2 players can play...

maybe it has something to do with how the 60gig version of the PS3 handles backwards compatability. most games for the ps2 were only 2 player, so maybe they only enabled 2 controllers at a time? just a guess.

well i mean the setup is made for a ps2/ps3 and i guess i would have to buy rockband for the ps3 and trade in the ps2 game? would that possibly solve it? also my friend has a 20gig ps3 and he says his ps2 set up with the ps2 game works with all 4 ports using the splitter but when it comes to my 60gig it doesnt work. i dont understand maybe a ps3 update?

I would go for the trade in. Honestly, it seems a bit silly to play a dumbed down version of the game when you have the ability to play the full version on your console. If you trade it in, you should only have to pay an additional 10 bucks or so if you get full value.

This is confusing me... What specific peripherals are you using and how are you plugging them in?

i can use any set to play the game but only 2 usb ports out of the 4 usb ports work. meaning i can only play 2player instead of 3 or 4 player.

I bet you are the only one trying to do this.

If you can exchange for the ps3 version, that is the best option, second best is to just buy the ps3 game only, the peripherals work with both.

No matter what, you need the ps3 version of the game it is far superior.

well i just purchased the ps3 version of the game and kept the peripherals. and i kept the ps2 version just incase i wanted to go to someones house to play rockband and they only had a ps2 and i didnt want to bring my ps3 along.
