The reasons why Green Day should never be in a music game are as numerous as they are awesome. Billy Joel has a terrible voice that comes off more apathetic and unpassionate than a 14-year old brat crying for attention. They only play simple chords, power chords at that, no respect coming at all on guitar, its disgusting. I will give some credit, very little to Tre Cool, he's not deplorable on drums, he has limited skill, as does Mike Dirnt, who knows if they didn't have to play with a knob like Armstrong their might be something there.

Green Day is not music. Plus the fact that it would be boring as HELL to play. Pick up a real guitar and you can play one of their songs in under 10 minutes

To be honest, Green Day are incredibly poor instrumentally. It's simple pop-punk at best, a poor, bandwagon jumping "band" committing musical genocide at worse.

I'm in agreement with basically this entire thread. Green Day is pretty awful and impressively untalented. As for those other bands its quite a shame that they haven't been included yet (damn licensing issues) but there is always hope for the future.

Green Day would be EXTREMELY boring to play. And also considering most of their songs are under 3 mins in length, I'd feel ripped off having one of their songs in this game. Ditto bands like Blink....

ok i could get in a huge fight over the internet here about green day but i wont. i love green day. they are the first band i have ever liked and will always like them. people have there own taste in music and you should yell at someone for not likeing what they like(im not saying that any of you are). so the good thing about dlc is that you dont have to get it and they put it out there for the people who do like it. so everyone just has there own opinions. i would like to see some blink 182 to in the near future. travis barker kicks ass

I know what you mean, Green Day is why I love music frankly, It then expanded but Green Day and Led Zeppelin are my favorite two bands, just don't know which to rank higher (though I know what most would rank which)

Also, this thread brings back memories...it was the first thread I ever read on RB forums (it was on the front page of the community site, around the time when "Request-A-Song" form was around)

I'd like to see Green Day in RB. As some have said, they were what got me into rock music in the first place. Not every song in the game has to be a "boss song" if you will. The most fun my friends and i have had playing RB was the song Sabotage, by no means a challenging song, but it was incredibly fun. Green Day would also be alot of fun to play.
...To the "I'm so incredibly awesome because i dislike Green Day" club; I think i'll listen to some Green Day and think about what songs would be fun in RB, and then I'll put on Dazed and Confused by Zeppelin because that bridge just puts me right to sleep :)

It all comes down to what they can License as well. Even if they want a band on the game they have to get person from the publishing company that represents that artist. Some bands are game some are not. Doubtful they can get everything. I mean honestly the songs that come on the game are just filler stuff. Alot of smaller bands no one has heard of mixed in with a few classic songs. Give it some time and bands and labels will jump on board.
