I was a big Motley Crue fan back in the day, I can definetly see myself getting this track. But more importantly it finally confirms what we been waiting for some time, that bands would release singles exclusively for Rockband...sure it's not the hottest of bands at the moment but it's a great start!.

Am I the only person that finds the constant battle between RB and GH hilarious?

GH: We've got a brand new single from a popular 80's band for download in a pack this month!

RB: Oh yeah?!? Well we've got a brand new single from a popular 80's band too, but we're going to offer it by itself for a dollar!

I mean, "releasing through the game" could just mean it comes out first in Rock Band with releases in other formats later.

Even if it is an exlusive release window that's still a big deal, though.

For that matter, where are the youtube videos coming from if it isn't out yet? Random people leaking it early?

You got great point, of course I didn't know about the youtube videos or that this song even existed. Still I may have used the word "exclusive" a little too loosely.:o

The other interesting thing is this is the first time we've ever had a "double release" -- meaning we get the Classic Pack AND we get the Crue single, both announced separately, in the same week.

Every time you think you understand Harmonix's DLC release process they mix it up... :D

Sweet, this is shaping up to be one of the most awesome DLC week ever, for me atleast (Because of 2 Three Packs, Still Alive and This as well as being a PS3 user).

Also, this means they beat GH in releasing a single for the first time in a video game. Bravo HMX well played :D

Yes the entire shout album would be sweet , i think the best thing harmonix could ever do instead of picking any certain album is just pick a band and release there greatest hits album if that band has one which most do.

Motley Crue Greatest Hits motley/beyond (http://www.google.com/musicl?lid=miJpQdyHfoI&aid=guAhKOtcHHD)
Def Leppard VAULT 1995 (http://www.google.com/musicl?lid=1ILl0f7edQO&aid=DCcIv4LvakB)
Guns N Roses Greatest Hits 2004 (http://www.google.com/musicl?lid=IG5JlARlW5O&aid=Hopxqjb_9ZI)
Ozzy Ozbourne The Essential Ozzy Osbourne (http://www.google.com/musicl?lid=foaZgdDS1iB&aid=4XI4lXx_ZaG)
just to name a few i would flip for.

we need more Motley Crue, this just shows that they support rock band.

the song is good, but i want to play to some others, like:
Shout at the Devil (needs to come back form guitar hero)
Kickstart My Heart (super catchy)
Dr. Feelgood (love it)
Same Old Situation (SOS)
Smokin in the Boys Room (everybody does it!)
and Girls, Girls, Girls (oh Yeah)
MOTLEY SIX PACK!!!!!

I knew Harmonix wouldn't just let Guitar Hero 3 get the first songs ever that were released in a game before the album was out.

Take that Def Leppard.

Just listened to Saints of Los Angeles - sounds a lot like old Crue, maybe around the Girls, Girls, Girls era...

Hopefully we'll see more from the Crue in the future! (I vote for Too Young To Fall In Love!)

gave it a listen and will most DEFINITLY be giving it a download. It's just amazing how many old bands are coming back together here in the 21st century. Motley Crue and Def Leppard releasing new material, Iron Maiden with their entire world tour, and Rush is on tour right now also.

Hell YES for the Crue!! Motley Crue rules (in there own sort of way). Plus I'm not too sure where everyones been because I saw their reunion tour in the summer of '05.

I personally think this is a kick ass song for this being the first time hearing it. We need LOTS more Crue and other 80's bands similar to this. This is the one era of music that is totally missing from RB, unless I'm overlooking something here and I don't think I am.

80's rock has always been fun party music, plus this was the music that was around when I was a teenager. I got TOO Fast For Love in 1982 or '83. I would love some LIVE WIRE!! Theres a song to get you fired up, along with Shout At The Devil of coarse (Full Album). MORE MOTLEY CRUE!! This is very good news for me and some others I know like Mr mercuryshadow09.;)

Give it a bit of time and I'm sure it will grow on you the more you listen/play it. It's pretty typical for a Crue song to do this. But yes, trying to compair this new song to the classics we all know and love is hard to do. Regardless it the Crue and that's just good news by itself.;)

Cool man. I'm working on it. The guy that posted that he also races RC cars has NO CLUE on what I am talking about. He's thinking of tire inserts for totally different types of tires, totally different then what I am talking about. I did take some pics to show you guys what I am talking about and will post those so it makes more sence on what I'm talking about. I just need to resize and crop etc. But yeah man, I've been working with it some and you my firend will be one of the first to have some of this stuff, I promise.

Thanks for the reminder and will try and get those pics up tonight after a little bit of RB.;)

We both DEFINITELY have the same taste in our "80's" music, so I'm all for the Skid Row and seemingly endless bands of our music era that would rock balls! I'm with you 100% buddy.

Anyway, I'll keep you posted with the rubber for your pedal my friend.;):)

Yeah, well that's what I was trying to say.LOL 80's Hair band pack (6 Pack Please) because the large amount of killer songs that exists there...you of all people know what I mean.;)

Hell, I could think of 6 killer tunes by Skid Row alone. But just a good variety would be sweet. I hope trully hope it's sooner then later. Maybe this Motley Crue song will stir things up a bit. Here's to hoping!:)

This is great news. Just listened to it and am definitely going to purchase it today. I'm hoping for a lot more of the 80's rock, to me it's something RB could use more of. This kind of music is fun to play as a full band, and the hair band rock/metal stuff just kicks butt anyways.

Good job HMX.

I like your way of thinking! In all honesty, the material is out there. I really don't think we have any true 80's hair band in the game now that I think about it. Yes we have 80's music, but not what we're talking about.

Uncle Toms Cabin - Warrant
Here I go Again - Whitesnake

Youth Gone Wild - Skid Row
Tease Me Please Me - Scorpions

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be downloading this. BUT I just want to say how great an idea I think this is. I hope more bands will do stuff like this. LIVE WIRE. This is where it all started for me with Motley Crue. I'm WAY stoked about finally getting some Motley Crue. Even though it's not there 80's stuff, it's still the CRUE!!!

_Tronix_
04-15-2008, 07:03 AM
Well...thank god the Crue song still has some 80's feel to it. But I figured they would do something like this. Wait near 6 months and finally get 1 80's hair metal song and its something noone really knows or grew up enjoying. I will get this but I would easily pay double for any of the well known songs by them in place of this one, just for the fact I may have to wait 6 more months.

People listen to music because it usually has something that they can identify with. This is also known as the "hook". I dont know how many of you play real instruments but when you play a song that you love it gives you goosebumps and a rush that is hard to explain. Kind of like a natural high. But when someone in the crowd requests a song you don't know or don't care for playing it seems like you just want it to be over with.

And being that this game is similar to playing real music because it takes skill to do why would you want to keep drudging repeatedly through songs that you dont understand or care for?

I just sat through an 88% ****fest of a sightread for this song (sorry to whoever did that on youtube..it..just..sucked..k?). I have to say, even with the crappy guitar missing every third note, I could still hear so much rock in this song. Definitely buying.

I was impressed, I was really expecting another 'If I Die Tomorrow' type of thing, nice to see some of these bands coming around to the realization that they don't have to change their style anymore to get listeners.

*Crosses fingers that Metallica pulls it off too*
