To quote Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/zeropunctuation/2883-Zero-Punctuation-Resident-Evil-Umbrella-Chronicles):

Do you remember what the villains from Captain Planet were like? How they would steal an oil tanker and deliberately run smack into a beach to teach all the sea lions a lesson in complacency? Do you remember wondering why they didn't just sell the oil at huge profits and not have to get beaten up by a big blue man in little red pants?

Boomerang will mark Earth Day with a twelve-hour marathon of Captain Planet episodes on Saturday, April 19, the network said yesterday. The twenty-seven episodes, which will begin airing at 8:00am, were selected by The Captain Planet Foundation.

Schedule for the marathon:

You're probably wondering if the only reason why I posted this nugget of joy was so that I can quote Yahtzee's Captain Planet anecdote.

And, you're right.

I always disliked the kid who had the power of "Heart". I'd feel awfully ripped off if a guy could shoot fire at me and all I could do was talk to the squirrels and whatnot.

Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Heart....with your powers combined I am Captain Planet!

It was an alright show back in the day. When your mom is stationed overseas and you live off base and only get the one AFRTS channel.
