ok so i've decided to preorder the whole bundle tonight.

Where do you feel is the best out of these 3 options:

Amazon- I've gotten stuff there before, and never had problems. Great customer service too.

BestBuy- I feel they would recieve the most copies, and therefore I'd have the best chance to have it day one from there.

Gamestop- I can't think of one good reason to pre-order from gamestop.

I preordered it at Gamestop, but you're right, lol, they really don't have anything going for them.

If I were you, I'd preorder from BestBuy. I preordered GHE: Rocks the '80s from them and I got like $10 off and a $10 gift card :D

I preordered yesterday at EB, they didn't even know what was in the bundle, or how much it costs, so I just put 50 on it and will put 50 on it every now and then before release. If that method appeals to you, go for it.

Amazon will depend, you might not get it on day one (sometimes they ship it out late) but you will get one.

Best Buy is probably for sure, but sometimes (especially the one here) they don't preorder things they don't know everything about (sometimes not even then)...

We don't have Gamestops here, so I can't tell you about that.

Hope that helps!

BestBuy.com

Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Electronic-Arts-Rock-Special-Edition/dp/B000TT4GBG/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-8586786-5522427?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1189809069&sr=8-1

Gamestop.com (as well as in store)

I think all three list it as the "special edition" bundle.

I think i'm gonna go with amazon, mainly because not many other people will order from there.

Personally, I order from Amazon all the time. I always use the free shipping and get the item 4 days from the DAY it ships, and I've never been disappointed.

I recently preordered two DVDs, and I got one the day after, and the other two days after the release date which is looking pretty good for getting rock band on the 21st or 22nd, HOPEFULLY the 20th but I don't see that happening, but I could pay the extra 6$ but its all good I can wait 2 days :)

I pre-ordered from Gamestop. I've never personally had a problem with them before, but then again I wasn't silly enough to pre-order one of the consoles.

I've been having a lot of problems with Best Buys lately. For GH2, specifically, I'd called one and had them hold it for me. When I showed up, they had a mix up and another employee had just grabbed the box I'd had them set aside and sold it to some random jobber. That sorta turned me off from them for a while.

Edit: Whoops, didn't notice that you'd already pre-ordered. Congrats. :P

Hey no reason people can't share their experiences too.

With something as big and important as RB i won't even risk an in-store pickup.

Have it delivered to my door and have it waiting for me when I get back from college for thanksgiving break.

Yup, I've only had a problem with Gamestop when dealing with limited supply hardware. Like, for example, the Rock Band peripherals.

I have a preorder in to Amazon, but it is just a backup policy because they are liberal about returns.

My intention is to hit the brick-and-mortars so that I have it in my hand day one (I need it before family comes down for Thanksgiving the next day). This will be the first game that I ever do the Walmart-at-midnight thing to get it day of release. If that fails, I'll be taking the morning off from work and waiting for Best Buy to open.

Its not too late to change it to free shipping, just go into your order status and change it on the side if you wanted to that is but, it all depends if you think its ok to pay an extra $15 :p lol But by my calculations Ill have it on the 21st......Same as one day shipping I believe. On the other hand, one day shipping might secure it on the 20th, I was deciding on it but decided Ill take my chances, I only have to wait an exta 3 days MAX if I don't get it on the 21st. (btw I sent you a friend request on XBL if you don't mind :) )

Eman311

Well we will have to compare the days we got it :p

I'll stick to it, I used a new credit card so I don't mind the extra 15 for the little extra security.

But if i find out it meant nothing i'll ***** them out and get my money back.

Heh, funny enough, it's online delivery that I'm jaded about. Back in the day, they released that free Battlefield 1942 demo, and I got super into it. I pre-ordered it online somewhere, don't remember where, but when it came out it took like a week to arrive to me. My good friend who was just as into it swung by a EB Games without even pre-ordering it and picked it up day after release. He played it for a week without me while I waited for my copy to arrive. Ever since then, I never touch online shopping if I want it on the release date.

But that was a while ago, they're all better about prompt delivery these days. But there's my logic! :D

It happened to me with guitar hero 2, which was brutal, but ended up only being an extra day (and my parents were cool enough to drive into Boston and bring it to me the day it came)

I think your best bet at this point is Amazon, thats where I'll end up getting it when prices are finalized. Unless Rockband.com starts offering the bundle, which I'm not sure will happen. I really don't like pre-ordering from Gamestop and I only do it as a last resort.

My plan is to actually get 2 Rock Band sets (I'm the only person in my circle of friends that has a PS3), one for Christmas that was preordered from Gamestop by my dad, and the other I'm getting on release when I reserve it at Best Buy, Software Etc., and staying 'till Midnight at Wal-Mart. Covering all my bases with this baby.

i thought it was pretty funny that you asked if the expedited shipping was worth it, and you made your decision a minute later anyway!

i hope for the extra shipping you get the item on, or better yet BEFORE, the release date. im getting mines from the store on release day. hoping they might actually break the release date so we can play a day or two early :D

i was talking to someone else about it and they mentioned they would try to get it through circuit city using the $40 off $199 coupon. that actually sounds like a deal if it works.

Haha I know. That's because I knew regardless of what people said I would end up doing it anyways. The funnier part is I might be at school anyways on release day but whatever it's all good. Rock Band is THAT important.

This made me feel like I should quote one of the greatest military minds of all time :D

"I have 37 different zombie plans. In 36 of the 37 plans I use your lifeless corpse as bait while I make my initial escape from the legions of the undead. In my final plan, I knowingly infect myself with the zombie virus, just so i can devour you!!!"

(for those of you who don't get it, i was quoting Sarge from Red vs Blue, lol)

I had a pre-order in with EBGames, but after tax & shipping it came to around $250. Once the bundle became available on Amazon, I cancelled my first pre-order and went with them. My new (tentative) total after tax and shipping: $199.99

I personally pre ordered from GameStop (in store), but they were an EB games before they got bought out.

I've never had a problem at my local GameStop, and I have been going there ever since it opened... so I feel "safe" pre ordering there because I am a regular.

I personally pre-ordered the bundle from eb games in person, i went there to purchase another game, and the guy was like do you wanna reserve anything, halo 3, rock band... i was like uhh yeah i do haha, so he told me that the rock band bundle requires you to at least put 25 dollars down for it, but you could pay the whole thing if you wanted to, so i put the 25 down. I personally use eb games because its the closest to my house, and they said they may have a 12 midnight release. I would say that best-buy and amazon are good as well, but i noticed that eb-games has a street date delivery promise, so you should definately recieve it on the day it comes out. im not sure if the other places are doing that.

Whats the best place for Canadians to Pre-Order it?
most of the Canadian sites don't have rock band listed on it...

I NEVER preorder any games, only did once, which was pretty pointless, but anyway, I decided to preorder at EB Games (We have a Gamestop too) They never sell out in games, the only problem I've seen with them is the Hardware issue, while Rock band does have hardware involved, I'm sure if you're in the top 10 or so you're going to get your bundle, since there's not a lot of widespread promotion for this yet ie, commercials etc, I think you're still safe to preorder from them and get it on day 1.

You got to put $5 down on just the bundle? At my local Gamestop, they made us put $20 down! Which was cool for me anyway, because my friend and I put down $40.

Yep. Apparently, all they require for game purchases is five bucks -- even for those with seperate hardware. GH3 would have been five bucks had I wanted to pre-order it, but I didn't really want to. ;)

I just preordered at EB. They said the minimum to put down was like $20 or $25.. I forget.. but I paid for the whole thing.. Now I have A LOT of work to do around the house to make it all up. Heh.
