Hopefully this might put a halt to some of the Rock Band hate going on over there, and maybe we'll get a few song announcements!

All they are doing right now is playing custom songs. :(

I am quite active on Score Hero, and I unfortunately agree with this, but there are some of us that have been defending RB consistently.

Its ironic I see this link here rather there. I am always too busy checking threads I've already posted in!

I wonder why they posted that topic so soon. All they're doing is playing Guitar Hero custom songs at the moment.

Edit:

Don't expect any new info from this.

[02:39:22] <SHPhr34k> : we werent brought out here for a pres release
[02:39:24] <SHPhr34k> : unlike for GH3
[02:39:33] <SHPhr34k> : we were brought here so we know how to integrate the game on scorehero

I'm mildly sad.

I was extremely confused by that thread. The post said "While our webcast lasts (tonight 9/15) you can find us here", but other people were referring to the webcast in the past tense. He also described the visit in the past tense, but other people said there was no information because they are still there now.

EDIT: OK, now they have edited their original post to say 'tonight 9/14'. So they were out with Harmonix yesterday, they are flying home today, and we should get some juicy info tonight.

Whatever, I'm sure it'll get sorted out in the end. I am really amazed how snarky some of those forum members are about Harmonix after Alex Rigopolous dropped 2 G's on them out of nowhere.

Regarding "integrating the game on scorehero", this is very interesting to me. In the OXM podcast, Alex confirmed that they were not using external servers, that they were relying on peer-to-peer networking and the XBox Live infrastructure to handle the online stuff. Microsoft is definitely not going to allow Scorehero to interface with the leaderboards.

I'm guessing that Harmonix is showing ScoreHero how to integrate with the big new Rock Band website, and that they are going to rely on a trust-based, community alternative to the XBox Leaderboards much like ScoreHero offers now.

Well I'm happy to know that ScoreHero won't be dealing with GH exclusively...

I do wonder what new info (if any) will show up.

Not to mention that ya know...Harmonix made the GH franchise....they should be kissing rock bands feet for giving them that in the first place.

Trust based my ass!
They want paper pics for everything wich is pretty hard to get for stuff you did weeks ago wich is why I don't bother with it. Then again with GH2 you actually had to playing at the time for the score to go on the leaderboards, not do it then upload it later so that wasn't much better anyway.

You aren't required to post a picture or video. Of course unless you suddenly show up posting Top 10 scores for songs, they're going to question you and why the hell shouldn't they.

I like Scorehero for some things. You don't need pictures but the problem is becoming this: most new people or 'normal' players go on there and post a decent score but feel horrible about it because of the freaks ( I mean that in a good way) scores. I really thought I sucked at that game because I haven't 5*'ed all the songs on Expert. I play ever where else around where I live and crush almost anybody. I go to that site and my rank is 1800. I do think they are going to do a great job with RB though. I do have a lot of faith for the site.

I just think it's a little funny that an fan site has gotten so much attention for the developers.

The problem isn't A pic it's that it's a paper pic. I had A pic though a paper one wasn't possible since it was a score from about 2 weeks ago so I just said screw it. Someone eventually beat it anyway.

Anyway I wash my hands at this, good day sir! :p

Thats ok, Monday is not that far away, I just hope they can say something we haven't heard before, those Scorehero guys are so lucky, getting to see both GH and Rock Band before it comes out, I really am jealous.

I don't get it. With online leader boards taking the scores and displaying them to the community at large, What exactly is the point of Scorehero now. I understand Cirri and his crew starting it up back when GH1 was the current hit and there were no other options... But now it all seems so obsolete. I figured he'd be outta business.

The top 10 ranked players on ScoreHero are an accurate reflection of the top 10 Guitar Hero players in the world. I was skeptical at first, but within the first few weeks of the XBox release the Scorehero champs dominated the leaderboards with the highest legitimate scores.

The top 200 ranked players on the online leaderboards consist of people who were affected by a DLC bug, as well as hackers and glitchers.

So, which ranking system is obsolete?

They said they were there for 13 hours. So it'll be really interesting what they have to say. Also they said they videotaped a lot of it. So we'll be able to see some highlights

Even if it doesn't I'd love to hear their impressions seeing as how they got to hold both the GH3 and RB controllers and will give us a fair comparison considering they are good at GH and know what most of us will be looking at.

But I thougt that XBL was the almighty cheat, hack and bug proof (well, resistant) online system known to mankind. Or at least that is what everybody keeps telling us whenever the PS2 or PS3 is brought up.

I thought Microsoft was on top of things.

I can't attest to either. I've never used XBL or Scorehero. All I know is what I hear.

Then you're probably not the right person to be declaring that Scorehero is obsolete.

Here's the options and policies for online cheating on XBL. everyone can be reported easily by reviewing their gamer tag. The XBL staff actively looks into these reports and can distribute appropriate punishments from as little as a 1 hr ban to a permanent ban. You can leave feedback(presented as a star score out of five). and the point is you can block users you do not wish to play with.

PSN: every game differs and is patrolled by whoever the developer leaves in control of the servers. If someone gets banned in one game they can go play any other no problem.

As for the GH2 problems it was a leaderboard and no matter what every online leaderboard gets hacked. It always happens the point is if the developer does something about it. As we know RO pretty much is done supportting GH2 for 360 so they don't care. Scorehero offers a reliable leader board with constant moderation.

That's not true.

In fact, scorehero now has become nothing more than a gloating site for the top ten players in the world. And when someone does beat their scores they require them to have 100 pieces of proof or they delete them.

Me neither. They got the stuff about what they can and can't say today, so they'll likely be recording, producing, and all that good junk until the end of the week, where it'll go up on Friday.

Just a speculation, though. Don't hold your breath.

whatever this new info is, i know i can always count on this forum to have it up within minutes of release :)

that reminds me, whatever happened to the "exclusive" info that EGM boasted about having in their next month's issue. wondering if any of that has been published yet.

I believe that issue of EGM should be out early October, usually the first week of October. I hope it is actually some decent info.
