Question about available songs

Ive heard mentions of the possiblity of having whole catalogues of songs from each artist available rather than one song. I presume the Harmonix people cant/wont say anything about this, but what does everyone else think? Is it possible? We know that they have signed up some record labels for this.......so it makes sense.
I really doubt it, mostly because it would take a while to make note charts for all four instruments for every song.....but still, maybe in future?

I sincerely doubt that would ever happen. Even if by some chance a lot of songs from one artist worked well with the game, it's not in the style of Harmonix to have more than a couple songs from one artist. In the past games, pseudonyms were used when Kasson Crooker did more than a few tracks just so it didn't look like Symbion Project took over Amplitude at the end. They like a lot of variety.

Yes. I do think that they should have Multi artist songs. For example on Guitar Hero II the Song Surrender by Cheap Trick it was not the best song. I would of like to see I want you to Want me by them. But Having Both would of been nice also. Different songs from the same artist would be a great idea. If the programmers are willing to take the time to make the map. Then the fans are more the likely be ready to wait.

Yeah it seems so far away from reality, but if its true it would take a long time to set up all songs, also it would require less artist and therefore less variety :confused: i just hope they put something of the fray or lifehouse in it :)

If you have more than one song by one artist, you have to have more than one for every artist, or people will get mad.

I don't see why they couldn't release multiple songs be the same artist sometime in the future as DLC, not all on the disc when it comes out.

I was saying in another thread how cool it would be if you could cue up 5 or 10 songs and play 1 big set at once without returning to the menus, that would be especially good if u had a lot of songs by the same band.

It could become a good promotional tool for artists if they've got a new CD coming out, for it to also get released on RockBand a month later.. certainly if they get royalties off it.

Dunno about old classic albums though.. mainly because, well hey, they'd want to keep their options open for the RockBand sequels right? :)

I totally agree; multiple songs by the same artist should be available to download, that way we can get the songs which we want to play; if a couple of tracks are released every few weeks for download, than I think it could definately work.
the idea of making one big setlist to play at once would be hell kool aswell; that was one thing that I wished GH2 had!

MTV can get anything they want!!! They hardly have bad relationships with artist.
