View Full Version : How are the tiers going to be organized?

Since not every song is equal in difficulty for all 4 parts, I wonder how tiers will be organized.
Does Harmonix organize them for each instrument, and through that away for the band mode?
Or do they try to balance the songs so that each gets harder for each instrument knowing that it will make the difficulty scale up a little rougher?
Or is it something else?
How do you think they will have it organized?

Well for each of the separate careers they have a different order.
But I'm not sure how it'll work for Band World Tour. I assume they will go up by an average difficulty per insrturment.

Each instrument goes by difficulty.
For example Won't Get Fooled Again may be a final tier song for drums and a mid-tier song for guitar.

World Tour is not going to have tiers like they do in career. World Tour uses setlists that are played in different venues.

? How does that work? Wouldn't it be easier for them to go alphabetically or something online?
Also, do you guys have any proof? I wouldn't be surprised if the each instrument possibility turns out true, but I couldn't find answers anywhere....

Yeah.
The goal is to keep your popularity high, make deals, and churn out high rating setlist.

The OXM podcast with Alex confirmed it. He said that the tiers are different for each instrument, and that the final drum song is Won't Get Fooled Again, while the final guitar song is an unannounced song.

Harmonix has put the information out there.
Posters like Xzyliac (n00b guide author), kaboobi (insider connections), and skeltonath (played the game) aren't going to pass off unconfirmed info as fact.

Alex talked career progression in the OXM podcast interview.
Awesome interview.

Yay! I'm trustworthy! :D But yeah, if I'm not sure about the information I'm giving out, I'll say so. As I said above, "I'm not sure, but I assume...blah blah blah."

Thanks for pointing out the OXM podcast. I never listen to that usually, but I listened to that one for a bit to hear the info.
Yay for downloadable bonus songs :p, that is all!

With the quantity of DLC this game is supposed to be pulling out I think it might be wise if they devise a system similar to the foot rating in DDR that way if a person has never heard of a song they can gauge the difficulty before playing a song that isn't set into the initial tier system. This sort of thing may even be helpful in the World Tour mode where there aren't going to be teirs per se

It's as follows
Solo Career Modes
----------------------
organized by difficulty for each instrument
Band word Tour
-------------------
Playing your own set lists. I think there may be some certain songs you have to play
quick play
----------------
songs get organized whatever way you want. By release date, alphabetical by artist or song, maybe by difficulty for each instrument

well isnt the career "world tour"?
maybe as you advance through cities, you unlock new songs and thus need to play longer setlists as you become more popular?
That was my impression.
so you're saying there is solo campaign as well as solo world tour?

Yes. One plays like GH the other like a simulator (merchandising, negotiating with venue management, playing whatever is popular in the area, etc.).

I think I know what you're talking about. I'd like to see each song get an individual difficulty rating for each part. That way if I'm playing a song in multiplayer, I'll know whether my friends could handle the song on hard/expert or whatever depending on the instrument they're playing. (Like for my friend who's okay on some songs on hard, but not the upper tier ones, but is really good at singing...)

I would like to see an option when your doing band quick play (online and offline) that you can pick the songs you want to play and make a playlist, so you can kind of make your own setlist for you and your buddies to play. Sorry if im stealing anyones idea.

Yeah, I get the impression that you mostly do your own set lists, but there will be challenges that you can choose to take on. In one of the interviews... I think the OXM one? They give the example that a venue owner will offer you triple the money if you five star three songs, but if you take the challenge and fail you get nothing.
I imagine that there might be some venues where they specifically request certain songs. Probably the tricky ones. ;)
