Just a thought, Game looks fun as hell, and with a few beers will be a great laugh with friends and strangers too. Could this be the next type of BAR KARAOKE ? whatcha  think?

Pianos, a bar on the Lower East Side in New York, already does Guitar Hero nights every Tuesday, and they've told me they'll at least do a Rock Band launch when it comes out. So...it might!

The only way RB or GH could ever become as popular as karaoke is ifthere were thousands of songs on the game. Which seems highly unlikely.

A bar by my house does do Guitar Hero competitions and free play...but it's nothing like a karaoke night. Not many people are great at guitar hero and you really have to be decent enough to pass songs, where as in karaoke there is no pass/fail.

I had a dream about something like this one time, so probobly, yes. I'm guessing it will become a new karaoke tool.

I have a friend that owns a local bar. I've been pushing for a Guitar Hero night. He keeps saying no but now with Rockband and all the DLC I hope he changes his mind.

i could see it happening once they have a bigger list of tracks. 45 songs might be a bit too limiting. no one wants to hear the same off-key songs belted out over and over again in a two-hour block.

I think it's definitely a very fun possibility, and I can guarantee that I'm hitting up bars a lot more if they start. As of now, I need to find bars that have GH2, and see whether they plan on having RB or not.

If I owned a bar, I'd do it for sure. :D

The key thing to remember is, bars don't remain in business when they turn into sausage factories.

Even the New York bars that have Guitar Hero nights draw predominantly male crowds on those nights, which is why those events aren't very widespread.

If and when Rock Band gains a wide appeal among a female audience (hint: death metal DLC ain't gonna do it), you will see more penetration into karaoke bar territory.

Yeah, I can agree with that. A sausage fest GH night may turn a profit on a slow Thursday night, but wouldn't work every night.

GH1&2 were limited in musical scope. We can already see that Rock Band is trying to branch out a bit more, and Harmonix has promised us a lot of DLC. Hopefully we'll get more music to get the ladies interested. My wife and my cousin's wife have both played GH, so I can only see RB doing even better.

I could definitely do a RB-themed club. Record video of them playing and singing, and give it to them on DVD afterwards for $X.

Competitions. I'd love to see competing duets in a club, where two people go back and forth singing, trying to sing better than the other.

I'd open up a club like a Hard Rock, with rock memorabilia, maybe have the wait staff dress up in period costumes! It'd be fun. :)

Yeah, it is mostly guys that play. Like I've said before I'm trying to get my friend to do it on a Tuesday night. (Monday is football) Tuesdays are normally slow for most bars and the people that are there are mostly male (3:1 or so). So, if it fills the place that is good for him and it works the other way too. I have some female friends that would go to the bar BECAUSE there are a lot of guys to buy them drinks.

you guys are crazy. Karaokee is a part of Rock Band, not the other way around. Karaokee isn't going to go away. I think rock band might be a good staple event at bars but karaokee won't be replaced.

After paying all required license fees for making a profit from the original artists renditions of the songs, of course.
