give the people who make the Charactors, Clothing, Venues, Instruments some thing to do...

I dream of one day having a more Metal-looking male avatar
the pants in the metal catagory are almost all Glam and hair spandex fruityness

honestly the girl's metal clothing is ok, but its FAR more metal than the little 80s themed selection the males have.

For Metal id like some..

Camo - like black, it goes with everything

Zip hoodie /w Death metal band tee under it - i want it so bad

the option to put the hood up - Why wasnt this included to begin with?

Less obnoxious armor - for insparation look at behemoth's or emperor's. more leather with metal spikes and pads

matrix-like over-coat - the kinda over coat in goth has a fishnet shirt :/ something that looks a little more serious plz

Clawed gloves - come on!

Gwar-ish costume Masks

Now For Instruments...

I would be sweet if you guys could hook up with Moser or B.C. Rich!

I would absolutely love new downloadable clothes/accessories and instruments! I would even love to see costumes as new downloadable content. I mean, whoever created those Star Trek rockers had allot of time on their hands but with some cool costumes they could actually have the Star Trek insignia's and such. Plus I agree that Goth and Metal need more.

1. A lot of things that were attached to pieces of tops or bottoms or hair need to be made into their own categories, ie. hats, scarves, belts, and necklaces.

2. More skirts for female characters, longer ones that don't suck instead of the ones in the Punk and Goth sections.

3. Metal just needs its fail turned down from 11 to... maybe 6? 95% of all Metal is either to stupid or too ugly to ever put on any character.

4. Upgraded tattoo system to cover more of the body, ie. sides of the torso, back, shoulders, neck.

5. I'm pretty happy with the instruments. I guess we could have more weird flavour instruments.

Okay your not the only one who voices this. This has been brought up numerous times but has often been shot down as being too difficult to impliment into the game. If you made it cost, then there would have to be a free patch downloaded by everybody so those clothes can be seen by others when played online. If it were free clothing DLC then no problem, providing everyone downloads it. For this to work it would have to be manditory or otherwise other people without it wouldn't be able to see it.

It can't be done because as AnarchyintheUK pointed out, the content would have to be on all machines that would be viewing it.
When you are viewing another players character you are not actually seeing their character, you are seeing a character from your own machine recreated with the other persons character configuration. (their settings)
That is why the clothing and accessories would have to be the same on all machines and the reason that clothing and accessories cannot be made DLC.

actually there are numerous ways they could add new clothes, hair, etc. as DLC.

#1 they could just make it an update to anyone who logged onto XBOX Live, PS3 Network, etc. Just like the upgrade to the DLC interface and the change to the Fan quotas, venue prerequisites. If you don't get online you ain't playing with anyone else anyway, so that is a non-factor.

#2 they could make it DLC that you pay for and if someone else doesnt have that DLC they would just get a default or placeholder outfit/hairstyle instead of the new one that they hadn't yet downloaded on their end.

#3 they could make it DLC that you pay for and if someone else doesn't have that DLC they would have it downloaded into their cache for viewing but couldn't wear those outfits/hairstyles themselves.

this has been tackled by just about every developer's multiplayer team and its pretty easy to do.

there is no doubt more clothing is coming, its just a matter of time. i remember even reading that its going to be done at some point....it will probably be a free update to everyone and cost nothing. it will just be used to re-energize the franchise and keep it the best game on the market.

i can't wait to see the amount of FAIL that Activision achieves with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. If they have a bunch of other band's music, it may be decent but if over 50% is Aerosmith that may well be the worst game in the history of the world. Aerosmith sucks outside of like 3 or 4 songs.

Correct on all three solutions. But Harmonix has to decide that clothes are worthy of designing. Oh well.

Actually, alot of games use the "download as a mandatory patch, unlock with a purchase" model. Several PSN games come to mind.

I can't believe no one's addressed this yet. You can already do this. If you have a band, your band logo shows up on the bass heads, as well as on the tail of your plane in one of the loading screens.

I somehow doubt that we'd be getting new, company-line guitars, but let's just say that if I could get an Ibanez J-Custom RG8270F for anything less than my soul, I'd gladly take the deal.

EDIT: I just realized that there's a great source of Fender guitars that we could draw from for DLC that wouldn't have the licensing issues of guitars from wholly different companies... the custom artist series of guitars!

They could release a patch that downloads the items to your Xbox/PS3, and you have to buy the stuff to unlock it.

Anyway, here are some things I think they need to do for a Character DLC pack.

1. More clothes. Like 4-5 more items in each category for each genre.

2. They need a hat hair system. Like in THAW, but better. I'm tired of using the crazyhawk with the helmet.

3. Back and neck tattoos are needed.

4. I really want them to add a KFC Bucket for the head.

5. Masks. I think they should add masks. Like Buckethead's mask, Slipknot masks, Luchador masks and so on. (For the luchador masks, you should be able to make art on them.)

6. Drum head art

7. More Gloves. Like the TC said, spiked gauntlets would be awesome.

8. Custom Guitars. Not only should you be able to customize the art, but you should also be able to customize the hardware. Like different humbuckers, pick guards, bridges, fret boards, whammies, knobs, and so on.

Heck, we have already dumped a lot of money into this game between the original box set, DLC, and addition instruments (for those who have) so I think HMX could give some new clothes for free.

I am more than a little disappointed with the lack of options for drums. There are more than 20 different types of guitars and I, as the drummer, am stuck with a selection of five, maybe six, types of drums. You can get a goat head guitar, chain saw, brain etc...., but no cool drum designs. I'd like to see maybe some fifty-five gallon drums, skull drums, or trash cans. Something other than standard, ordinary drums would be a godsend for us impoverished drummers.

i say more guitar/bass choices...there are a TON of styles that match shred / metal / rock / punk that aren't in the game...not to mention the severe lack of basic art / tattoos.

aside from that the clothin in the game is fine, if they add too much then what's the point of an expansion?

i would love some actual new songs/instruments (please can i have a musicman bass, ernie ball is a sponsor of the game) but i wouldn't want to shell out cash for any of them, great choice for some free dlc, since that is the only catagory that slash's game beats us... they have had more free dlc.

You are so right.
Everything that you mentioned above.
I think that "Artsy" is the only cute face.
Here is a tip HMX, the whole look of the face can be changed by simply changing the curve and thickness of the eyebrows and the shape of the mouth.
It is not necessary to have such radically different shaped faces!

And here is another thing that you developer guys should know, accessories are important to girls.
We like to be able to try different combinations of things.
Necklaces, Stockings, Etc, Etc.
Hire some female consultants or something.
That is if you want the game to appeal to girls.
I haven't heard any complaints so far from any guys about girls being interested in the game and wanting to play it. ^^

And separate the hats from the hair too please. :D
