With the announcement of Guitar Hero III for the PC (http://pc.ign.com/articles/819/819263p1.html) i was wondering if Rock Band is coming for PC?. I would love to play Rock Band and Guitar Hero III on PC as some of us don't own a console. I been following these games forever and would love to see them hit the PC market.

I HIGHLY doubt it. I just feel it would go against the whole "play as a group" aspect....... and for right noe I doubt HMX is even thinking about it.

How does it break "play as a group"? Honestly, a PC is nothing more then a really expensive multi use console, with of course a nice Keyboard/Mouse combo instead of analog stick. Some of us "cough mostly me" suck at analog controls and refuse to get good with them. Back to the subject though, Don't you think they should look into marketing there game even farther then just consoles? There's a big world of computer gamingl, that's VERY LACKING in the Music Genre like DDR and Guitar Hero.

There's another thread here (http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=4307). Don't worry, I couldn't find it with the search function either, and I knew it existed. For some reason searching for "PC" gives no results...

PC games are the easiest to mass pirate. And with all the downloadable content planned for the game, they want to do their best to ensure that the music they're licensing can't just easily be spread across the Internet. DLC for PC would be a total joke with all the torrents and file sharing apps out there.

A lot of times the search function has a minimum word length...

I've always hated those. Sometimes the word you're searching for is, well, short

Well, maybe Aspyr will port it over like they did Guitar Hero III..

Someone will make a Frets on Fire like thing, don't worry.

Pc will be a much more viable platform for major publishers once Crysis comes out and the inevitable budget videocards built specifically to run Crysis on medium settings. Much like when Doom3 came out and everyone shifted their focus from Xbox to the PC

After that, its possible.

Either way I agree about a possible frets on fire w/drums type game considering the drum controller will be compatible with windows PCs.

Actually, as of now they aren't really considering it. The main reason for this is that they don't feel that the HUD is suitable for the smaller screens that most people use with their PC's.

I interviewed John from Harmonix while in Chicago, I actually posed that question to him. I'm finishing up the video tonight, I'll let you guys know when it's up.

I can understand the lack of consideration given screen size. My TV is like 60 inches and my PC runs on 2 20 inch CRT monitors. I wouldn't dream of even trying a rhythm game given the disparity.

And did someone say exclusive forums interview?! Sounds HOT!

Sadly, it's not a forums exclusive interview. It was actually done for the website that I write for. I'm not really here to promote my site, so I'll just post a link to the video on YouTube ;)

I'm sure someone will do it. I have a buddy that plays GH while on the road (he is a trucker) and would love to get some RB time in on the road. I can't see many people playing with 4 people, but some would buy it I'm sure. If there is a bit of $$ to be made, it will be done.

Even my 22" LCD monitor that I use for gaming is only really big enough for one. Four people around a PC just doesn't work.

As promised, here's the interview (http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=5032) I had with John Drake. He talks about why they probably won't do Rock Band on the PC.
