Is there any chance of Live in concert albums being released? I would love to play Iron Maidens Live after Death or Metallica Live ****: Binge & Purge.
That would be freaking epic to be playing a live album.. I know this might not be possible because of how the content process takes place but is this something that is being looked at?

It's not possible, but it would still be really, really awesome.

live recordings are never multi-tracked and recorded so that instruments can be isolated. For HMX to make this happen, HMX would have to be in control of the concert recording.

I'm sure it could be done, just with an obscene amount of effort.

Someone eventually could develop a piece of software to isolate the different instruments..
Yeah I know and space travel will be an everyday occurence in 2020..
But still if it is even slightly possible that would up the ante for this game more so then it already is.
Hopefully in the future this could be possible.

Again,
I doubt you'll find any existing recording of a concert that's got instrument isolation like a master studio recording does. Certainly nothing pre-1990.
A shame, too, because Cheap Trick's "At Budokan" would be EPIC.

As has been stated in this thread, it's not physically possible at this moment.
Concerts are generally recorded in the following fashion:
1 mic - Singer
1 mic - Guitar amps
1 mic - Bass amps
1 or 2 mics - Drums
1 or 2 mics - Backup Singers
While you could isolate each person, you could not isolate each drum sound like they need to (and hence the reason why we don't have any Rush or Iron Maiden masters yet). On top of that, you would have instrument bleed through on the different mics. By this I mean, if you miss a string of notes in the game your track would cut out, but the guitar could still be heard playing because it's bleeding through the Vocalist's feed on the original live recording.
I hope that's clear enough

Even if it was a cover I would love Live at Leeds (THE GREATEST LIVE ALBUM OF ALL TIME)
"Young Man Blues"
"Substitute"
"Summertime Blues"
"Shakin' All Over"
"My Generation"
"Magic Bus"
Or
The allman brothers Live at fillmore east

I've thought about this too and it is a shame that this could not happen; because for a band like Pearl Jam, the live versions are the definitive versions.

I guess this means no "No Leaf Clover" - Metallica.
Sucks, because some of the live Metallica songs are better than their studio equivalents. Like For Whom The Bell Tolls performed during the late 80's, y'know, during the long-haired biker/redneck bearded Hetfield that sang everything angrily.
Made the song that more awesome. Same with Harvester of Sorrow.
Made Live **** Binge and Purge that more of a must have.
