Forum Signatures for Rock Band

Hey guys,

I am new to the forum and wanted to contribute in some way. I just go Photoshop CS & wanted to try to make some signatures for the site. I am really excited about the drums & I think I an going to make a Vinnie Paul (Pantera) one for me. I am going to get some pics of him & then also add the RB logo.

I will try some others if you post a request. Thanks.

Not to be a smart-ass, but why does one need a signature image when everyone has one next to their name already?

Everyone seems to be big on these, but it's seems like it's having an image just for the sake of having an image. (ie: no purpose)

Apples, I understand you're interest but as you may or may not know, signatures are staples of forums and some could argue that signatures could make people even more recognizable than by an avatar. Certainly it serves no purpose, but ultimately neither do avy's. Why can't people take the time to read a user name? It basic sight association concerning sigs and avy's.

I would say just do what you want whether they are in the game are not. Alice in Chains isn't in the game but I still tried making one... only thing is that I'm better with a free program (Paint) than a $400 program (Photoshop CS2) :confused:

I have been on many a forum in my day and have had signatures myself. My specific issue is with images being used in signatures. First, they increase loading times for the page. Second, they are not usually very tasteful. By that I mean the designers often leave them oversized, intrustive, distracting, or just plain annoying (especially if they're animated)

As an example, on another forum, a user tried uploading a giant 5 meg animated gif as a signature... it was practially a DoS attack for users accessing via poor connections. As another example, on the crap-ular "official" GH forums, it is quite normal to scroll through 2 pages of signature images per 1 page of real post!


So, that specifically is what I was trying to condemn in my first post, it would be silly for me to blast signatures while having one myself. :)

You need to use HTML Code < img src= IMG URL HERE >
just take out the spaces from the "<" and ">"

After seeing this thread I decided to attempt my own signature

I did make a Rock Band sig a while back, you guys can use it if you want.

Go to User CP > Edit Signature > and then type it into "Headline"

Use HTML Code < IMG SRC= URL OF IMAGE HERE >

(Remember to take out the spaces between the "<" and ">"

Yup you got it, no problem. It's tough to figure out, it's not even labeled signature and it also appears in your profile, which I don't really understand.
