King Crimson DLC plz

King Crimson would be a terrific addition to atleast the drumming section of the game, IMHO. Their drums were fantastic on "In the Court of the Crimson King", like for 21st Century Schizoid man and The Court of the Crimson King.

I've always imagined playing the end of 21st Century Schizoid Man in Rock Band because at the end there is a fantastic random jam section where they truly rock out. Also there's a pretty neat snare section about 5 Minutes in, which would be fun.

The Court of the Crimson King is made by the drums I believe. The only problem is that there is a long flute solo where there are no drums vocals bass or guitar, but other than that its another good Drum song.

Would anyone else buy some King Crimson?

and frankly anything from the Red album would be better suited for this game. less mellotron, more guitar = funner game experience

King Crimson for sure.

I was just listening to Indiscipline today, thinking about how much fun that would be for a whole band.

It starts off slow, on an easy beat for the guitars and bass, while the drummer gets to solo, then it's into a furious Adrian Belew guitar solo, then some very fun spoken vocals accompanied by easy guitars, bass and crazy drums. Repeat again with a mad, mad fast strumming chord solo from Fripp. Then Belew with a bit of vocal tongue twisting ('I repeat myself when under stress'). Then crazy Belew and Fripp and Levin and Bruford solos all at once.

How can this not be in Rock Band?

It's funny though, there is a fair chunk of 80's onward King Crimson that would not work in a single guitar game. How could a comprehendable note chart be made of a two-guitar interlocking riff, particularly at the speed Fripp likes to play.

You could probably do a reasonable chart for the ConstruKction Of Light / Power To Believe era, with Trey Gunn's bass parts and combine the Fripp/Belew parts into one, or remix the songs a little to make it work. This approach would not work for all of the songs from this era though.

And of course the other reason is that a lot of the great KC songs have no vocals.

Other songs I think would be good for Rock Band from King Crimson are:

Heartbeat
The Great Deceiver
Easy Money
Dinosaur
Walking On Air

And i would hesitantly put Schizoid Man on the list, mainly because as it is on the master track, there is 35 seconds of ambient noise before the band comes in, and a saxophone solo that goes for a minute or so in the middle. It would have to be an edited track for it to work.

How would you chart Fripp? They'd have to make up some new keys. :-) Also, why not some Toyah Willcox (Fripp's wife), the self proclaimed "Queen Crimson." Sunday All Over the World would be cool.

Some other fun songs for RB by KC would be 'The World's My Oyster Soup Kithcen Floor Wax Museum.' or 'Sex Sleep Eat Drink Dream', but for me, any King Crimson would be good.

Imagine yourself, playing the guitar track. Imagine wishing you were dead as the Mellotron bleets out notes.

My point is, probably nothing from In The Court of the Crimson King is suitable. I'm not sure if I'm correct, but I think Fallen Angel is one of the better songs for Rock Band, along with Elephant Talk.

Frame by Frame would be amusing, if only we could get the dual guitar mess instead of a bass part. I heartily second Sex Eat Sleep Drink Dream. As for earlier stuff having other instrumentals, KC has enough of a live catalog from the different eras to fit in relatively well with the Rock Band format. Just not too much stuff from post Double Trio era. It's good stuff, but not stuff I want to play.

Each time Robert re-arranged the band he created a new King Crimson with a different sound. Of course the underlying core is still Fripp.

Court is certainly the best of the early albums.
I think Red is the best of the John Wetton days.

When Adrian Belew joined the band really changed, not that that's a band thing.

Discipline is a great album. My favorite Belew album.

If you get these two you will get a sense of the direction of the band and can fill the gaps, depending on what you like.
