I live in europe...
Since i can't wait a couple of months for the european release i was really thinking of buying RB from an online us shop..
It will cost me also a little less..

The only problem for me is.. will it work on my european ps3??
I know ps3 is region free and that's fine
but .. what about the controllers?
Will guitars and drums work fine or there will be problems?

Hope you can help me

The controllers will work fine. I have a Japanese PS3 and any peripherals I've bought from here in Australia work perfectly.

OK here's the deal.. Game itself - Yes the game would work if you have a HD-TV as HD is a worldwide standard if your still using a SDTV then your going to get the NTSC /PAL issue in that your TV needs to fully support both other wise it may not work at all or you wont get colour just a black and white image.

Controllers.. they would work fine the controllers are wireless for PS3 which uses Blue-tooth which is again a worldwide standard, i have a U.S blu-ray remote and sixaxis as they were cheaper to import then buy here in the UK and they both work fine.

Online. HMX have said that online play would be worldwide so you shouldn't have a problem logging on and playing, finding someone to play Should be ok as long as you are aware it would only be the U.S until the rest of the world get the game.

DLC.. now this is where things can be a problem, note nothing is known yet how this is going to work so it's just guess work for the time being.. it depends on how the DLC is going to be obtained, if all you do is just log on to the PS3 store like you do with other game DLC updates patches etc then it may not be a problem as you could just wait for the Euro store to start adding the DLC when ever that will be, now if DLC is only done via in game there could be problem as it would just go to the U.S store and unless you have a means of buying stuff from the U.S Store your not going to be able to get any DLC unless you buy a Euro version of the game. as i said it's not known how it's being done yet so I would wait to see first before importing unless you don't mind buying the Euro version at a later date if that's how it ends up working.

What about 360? Does anyone know yet whether the game is going to be region free, or whatever it is

Nope, they're region encoded unfortunately.

Please Harmonix, don't region code Rock Band. As a PAL gamer who's sick and tired of all this BS of waiting months for games to be released down here, I'm begging you for a region free game.

Same worries here mate. Worst case though, you just re-buy the pal version minus the controllers. (If they do a solus package that is?) If you have issues with DLC.

Postage from the US should be funny, though properly packaged it shouldn't be THAT big... maybe.

I for one won't be waiting. I just can't...

what site you reckon would be the safest to buy from?

I had trouble finding a site that would ship outside the US, but I managed to get it from www.EBGames.com

There's a good canadian store too www.videogamesplus.com, but they didn't have Rock Band for pre-order last time I checked. Pre-ordered GH III from them, just to keep me going until Rock Band comes out. Goign to use the GH III controller as the Bass for Rock Band too.

thank u so much.
The situation is clear for me now.
My only problem was about the controllers.. now i'm happy :)
About DLC.. i think i will buy the game italian version without the controllers when it comes out so no problem about that!
Thank you again!

I'm a happy man now :) !!!
