Why doesnt it count? Just cause some people dont have it shouldnt matter, would make even more since for downloading if it counted.
What do you think?
And man they need bwt online, so wish i had a fourth player to help out sometimes, that sucks so bad.

This argument came up a lot a few weeks ago and then sort of peetered out after a while. However, there are two items that actually make this argument more compelling now than it did before.
It's still ludicrous to expect everyone to download every song, and as such a dlc leaderboard including all songs is unlikely. However, I do think that for songs that seem to be part of "official expansions" I think we should be open to the possibility of a dlc-leaderboard.
Consider the five songs that will be bundled with the Wii edition:
"Dirty Little Secret" All American Rejects
"Don't Look Back In Anger" Oasis
"Roam" B-52's
"Rockaway Beach" Ramones
"Roxanne" Police
Although these aren't the five songs I would have picked for ideal dlc expansion packs, I do think that their inclusion with the Wii version could present a legitimate opportunity so that people with those 5 dlc tracks could see their high-ranks for those five songs maybe.
I'm also wondering whether the Euro tracks will only be regarded as dlc on their games (which I presume will be the case since they're being treated as dlc in all other regards).

It shouldn't count. You're effectively telling people it's alright to buy their way to the top of the leaderboard. I buy the songs I like/want to play and I shouldn't have to buy songs I don't like/want to play in order to compete on the leaderboard. It's all gravy that they have individual leaderboards, so there's no need for it to count into the total score.

im just saying i think it would add to the download wanting if it added points too for playing? like gold stars and or carrer points or what ever

You can get Gold Stars on the DLC already, so that's not an issue. Sure it would add to the amount of people who want DLC, but it would also anger a lot of people who are competitive and either:
A. Don't have the means to purchase all DLC.
B. Don't care to purchase DLC that they don't actually want to play/listen to.
You're alienating a lot of people if you choose this route. Leaderboard should be the best players at the top. Not the people with the biggest bank account.

Yeah, I don't think they should ever merge dlc and disc rankings. But I would like to see some "Group" dlc combinations if it was possible. Maybe five song groups like from the Wii release and Euro release, or something for each week of dlc released or something to that effect. But this isn't really high on my list of wants at the moment, actually.

Fail to see what that really has to do with this thread. I think if you even like 20% of the DLC songs, they're doing their job perfectly.
Would you rather them stick to one genre and or only cater to a specific group? I think not! Unless they chose your group and then of course you'd be pleased, but I'd rather not take that risk :)

QFT.
If you really want to the DLC to count, just save time and make your bank account statement your sig.

What? They already can. There's a separate leaderboard for every single song.

I go back and forth on this issue.
I rarely play anything other than DLC now.
I understand the fairness issue. I have 120 songs and you have 80 so of course my score is higher than yours.
My current thinking is that the game shipped with what? 54 songs included?
Your top 54 scores should count as your career score, regardless of whether its original content or DLC. Everyone gets 54 scores to add up... nice level playing field for all.

I'm willing to bet that my feeling on this is actually pretty close to HMX's (not that I have any basis for that, just an impression). Having a seperate carreer score that included dlc (while keeping the current carreer score intact) would be cool. It'd just be more of a pain than it's actually worth, since really the leaderboards, unless you're in the top 100 or so, don't really matter that much to a lot of people. I broke the top 150 in PS3 leaderboards and now I'm kinda... meh, w/e. And with squeezing on drums being something I can't really be bothered with, most individual songs don't make a big diff to me. Score is more important. If I can get within 1000 (squeezing distance) of the top score on a song (usually a FC), I consider myself done with it. Sometimes not even that if I FC a song but don't have the right path. Gold stars are cooler than leaderboards.

But what would be the point? It would still be the people with the most DLC at the top. Someone with all the songs is gonna be way above someone with only 5 songs. Might as well just make a leaderboard that was based on amount of DLC instead of score. Yay, I have 94 songs, I'm #1! :P

Is this really that hard of a concept to grasp?
Each group of 5 dlc songs would be on its own indepdent ranking system, sort of like how every song is on its own independent ranking system, and how the career score is independent from individual scores. Make sense?
So you'd have disc carreer score. 8.5 mil, hurray, you're like 2 billionth
but on "random song" by unpopular artist, you are #2 highest score! hurray!
then, on "Week 11ty billion", which happens to include "random song" by unpopular artist, which includes 5 other songs for that week, you are ranked #1 for that week because you downloaded the whole pack and although you're not #1 on every song, your average score is higher than everyone else.
I'm basically saying there should be mini-groups among the dlc, so that there's something to work for beyond just individual songs. Yeah, if you don't get everything in that mini-tier, oh nohs! you can't get in the top 10. Which is why I advocated something like the "wii bonus songs" mini-tier, so that people with all 5 of those songs could compete.
As I said, I think something along these lines would be cool. A "Boston Pack" mini-tier, a "Grateful Dead Pack" mini-tier--something so that fans of those bands that got all the tracks could compete against each other to see who was the most like Boston, who was the most like Grateful Dead. But, as I also said, this is probably more effort han its worth and it's high on my list of wants for this game.

58, but still, that doesn't make sense either. Sure, if every song had the same top possible score, that could work. But they don't.
