Id say a ventura. I play one of those and I definately prefer it to my yamaha. its got great sound and is easy to play. I found one on e-bay when I did a simple google search and its listed at $50 plus $20 shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/Ventura-Acoustic-Guitar!--Great-condition!_W0QQitemZ160157533716QQcmdZViewItem
apparently the guitars are made in the ibanez factory, do it.

My personal recommendation, for I am learning is 1) better to learn by yourself with internet and tabs 2) buy the best guitar you can afford and 3) if you wanna learn electric, buy electric first, don't be forced into the "you must learn this before you can learn this" crap

true. start out learning the actual notes and everything, then once you get the hang of that go ahead to tabs.

Back when I wanted to play reg. electric guitar. This was my dream guitar.

But then when I bought a guitar I had switched over to bass and just got a simple Ibanez 4-stringer. Then I sold that and now Im just not even doing music anymore.

You don't need to settle for an acoustic, but they are good to start out with. Acoustic guitars will help you build finger strength pretty quick. If you buy an electric guitar, buy something that is affordable, but not damn cheap. If it's really cheap then it's a terrible guitar. I recommend buying a starters pack. www.guitarcenter.com search for some here. Epiphone has some good ones and so does Squeir. Most people will just up and say buy X guitar or this guitar, whatever. Don't listen to them. You might even want to go to a local shop and try some out before buying, it would suck to buy a guitar and then hate it, now wouldn't it?
