What Does Your Name Mean?

While talking 'bout names we grabbed for the new GH community I got really curious as to just what do all of these names mean? Some are obvious, some are not, but either way does anyone have much of a history behind their interweb title?

Mine (Xzyliac) actually came from a story I was writing (yes, I'm a writer, go figure). I was thinking of names for the characters, I always use made up names, and I thought of Xzyliac. I loved so I swipped it for myself.

Ok, technically I am phantom here. I can post on this forum, but I cant change any of my personal settings no can I message admins nor other users...so I didnt go with the name I normally go with on everything else.

DShizzle is just some lame Snoop Dogg way of saying my real name. My real name, Douglas, is celtic for "dark water".

The name I normally use for everything else is IodineX...which was just some awesome unique name I came up with for my AIM screen name once, and then it led to Xbox Live gamertag and my user name at the LAN center I go to. Its become my alter ego almost. Later I find out that Iodinex is an actual antiseptic product.

The first time I had to come up with some sort of screen name was for a free email account back in like 97' or something. I'm terrible with names so I just picked King Zarcon out of the blue because I happened to think of Voltron (I don't think I even spelled it right). I used that name for a while, but then on AIM or some other such thing it was taken - and then on several other sites it was taken too...

So I swapped the first vowel of each word and voila.

I usually use this name for everything, but I occasinally use anagrams like Rock Zaning, Rinnga Zock, and Zack Gonnir.

One of my friends who i played Diablo 2 with started with Cheerio...
We started a clan in CS 1.6 and everyone had a different cereal...
Then we all jumped over to Guild Wars...We started a Cheerio Guild, you know adjective then Cheerio...
Since the first time in Guild Wars PsychoCheerio was taken i always spelled it "Psyco"...but then on XBL the "Psyco" spelling was taken so i had to change it to "Psycho" for my XBL account...

It symbolizes infinity Hinduism. That's why Vishnu is blue. I'm not a Hinduist (is that the right term?), I just thought it was neat.

It's also named after the bad guy in an old pokemon comic I got when I went through my pokemon phase in 3rd grade, but I don't usually tell people that.

Smoka Cola: Me and a friend were smoking and drinking coke one day, told him I needed a good s/n for yahoo and such (i was making "booting" programs at the time) so he told me to go with "Smoka Cola" and I thought it was a pretty cool name. Well, mine's nothing special. Basically, I've been watching wrestling since 1989..but that's besides the point. Back in late 2000, I was still pretty computer illiterate, but I decided to make an e-mail address..kaneundertakerrule (which I still have) because they were just starting out as a tag team, and were two of my favourite wrestlers. Anyways, over time, I just started using kanerules, because it was shorter to type than either kaneundertakerrule or even undertakerrules, even though I like undertaker more :P

Anyways, that's the story and I'm sticking to it. :P

Like xzyliac, I'm a writer and "monlien" is a made up word. It's from a book/universe I was working on. Basically, a monlien is a monkey alien - although it's unclear what exactly a monkey alien really is. Well, I know, but it's a really long explanation.

NH3 is the name of my solo music project and alter ego (one of a few).

The combination of the two was created when I needed something for my XBOX Live Gamertag.

Mine's the Zombie tune normally, cause i was listening to it when i was registering my character for TFC/Counter-Strike back in the 90's sometime. If it's ever taken, I add the 'AC' to it. Many of you may think that LZ is for "Led Zeppelin" but nope...it's actually the initials for my old band "Limbo Zamba" when I used to live in Mexico City. We made a couple of records and then the band broke up, each member going in different directions, quite a few years passed since that, until recently we mannaged find each other (some of us) and started jamming again just for fun, thus LZ_Reborn...;)

my name comes from a local band that was a sort of nirvana cover band. they were highly influential to me in my early teen years. going so far as to lose my virginity to their song '****in****' (since its censored: imagine "f'in shiz") while on acid. but I needed a handle back in the day when I signed up for the OF GH site so I chose this one. The bands name was no idea, and the front man wanted my girlfriend. but thats just because shes hot. mystery solved.

Mine is a made up name I created when I was in second grade and wrote a story about knights on a quest. Since then, I've used it for almost every RPG I've played. For this forum, I was getting tired of my typical online name, which I felt I've outgrown, so used this one.

Now that I think about it, Kotran sounds pretty similar to Conan, so that may be where my mind was at the time I created the name.

Mine came from two things really.

It started as a name I gave to a character I'd been sketching for a while out of boredom, then I tried writing a story using that character. The name itself is obviously Japanese.

Family Name: Kurohana=Black Flower
First Name: Aiko=Love Child

So, when asked what it means, I just say "Love Child of the Black Flower", because that sounds cool to me. Why I used a girl's name for a male character (Aiko), I don't know.

It eventually became my Xbox LIVE gamertag.

GABO was an idea of mine for a band name my former friend and I were going to make, but then he became a huge two-faced d-bag; so I took the name and started using it for my GH band name. I used to use Kaitou Ace for everything. Kaitou Ace was a character from an old manga... actually the manga series that was the precursor for sailormoon...

Kaitou Ace was the good guy who would come in and save the main girl/hero from certain doom. What made him cool was that he was actually also the bad guy... he was the one trying to kill her because he was conflicted from a past life where his love for her was unrequited. His alter-ego is a pop-star.

I just always thought that was a really cool idea for a character: being the charismatic good guy and also being the root of evil... I liked the duality of it and I felt like I could associate with it because I recognized the potential for both within myself.

A few years back, some things in my life changed and I felt like I "fell" similar to the idea of a fallen angel...

...hence: Fallen Ace. Kind of creepy when I type it all out like this.

It comes from my friend, who always pronounced his v's as b's. He tried to say veal but it cam out as beel. I took it and mixed, it so the letters, without the B, spell eel which is my favorite animal. And one time he even walked up to me and said "hey Manguy." So iI just put them together.
So with much altering and som headaches, I came to Bleemanguy.
