A bonus track would be great, but a whole album DLC would be overkill and a waste of effort which could be used for bigger acts. Whole albums should be reserved for major bands, IMO. Probably a little too self-serving if some band members work for Harmonix.

which not only gives great recognition to a great HMX based band, but may help ease the pain of how expensive some of those "major" bands could end up costing to the gamers?

BC is an indie band. They were excited to break even on their midwest tour (BC podcast ep02), and even more excited they had fans. I think they'd be cool with making pennies off of DLC. They'd probably accept more money, of course...

It won't. You've got nearly the entire HMX team working on DLC once the game hits. They could pump out endless DLC probably, it's the licensing that's difficult. and what better way to solve it then having a great indie band offer up their stuff?

Actually, I can't remember where I read it but Harmonix plans to release the big names for DLC as well as indie bands; but especially indie bands. Rock Band will be an amazing outlet for up and coming artists to get their stuff heard. How many of us heard of Bang Camaro and many of the other indie bands before Guitar Hero's bonus songs? I had never heard of ANY of the bands. Now BC is one of my favorite bands if not THE favorite.
