no gibson guitars in rock band?!

Gibson = belongs to Red Octane and Guitar Hero franchise

Fender = belongs to HMX and Rock Band

Fender are the best IMHO, for looks and sound (I really don't like the fat LP sound, or the feeling of an sg) give me a strat (or tele, but always remember a strat can make a tele noise, but a tele can never make a strat noise) anyday...

I am not a Fender fan either...BUT they also make Jackson/Charvel guitars which I am a fan of!! I own a beautiful Pearl Blue Jackson. I am hoping I can create my virtual self complete with my actual guitar!

IMO, in terms of both variety and quality:
Fender Bass > Gibson Bass
Fender Guitar < Gibson Guitar

Well, many will argue Fender vs Gibson for either side quality. But no Gibson guitar is as vertasile as a strat with the 5way switch and 3 pickups.

I prefer the Les Paul style, due to having all three pickup configs being hum-canceling, compared to 2/5 for the strat. I also think Gibsons just tend to look cooler (there's only so much you can do to a strat), but Fender is definitely the big name in basses.

Of course, to each his own. I can find good in both.

True, but since in GH and RB the sound isn't affected, I'm going purely by looks :cool:

I'm talking about the in-game guitars that the characters have, not the periphs. And I do play, so it's not like I'm pulling this out of my bum.

id have to disagree, but i dont want to go OT. this forum is about the game rock band :)

i love my lp, the only thing it loses out on is a whammy bar, but ive heard great things about the stets bar. i'll probably add it on to mines one day.

The trick with the tremelo is, like all electrics GET IT SET UP! Once a year my set-upist (its £40 a go, and it sounds like a new instrument) does something to mine (well I only just got my strat, so more my Dad's) trem - I don't know the mechanics of it, but it never goes out of tune because of the trem (of course the strat goes out of tune once a few months but not cos of the trem), he sands down the neck etc. and its just brill.

I mean, from the experienced guitarists I know find the strat just so quick and I LOVE that single coil sound. But, I mean, you can put a humbucker on a strat, call it a fat strat, and It'll work reasonably well. LP's with Strat single coil just doesnt work. The strat can make any sound you get it to - the tele, the strat sound (4th setting methinks is the archetypal strat sound), the LP with enough twisting. But, the LP's sustain is the only 1up for moi

Yeah Gibson belongs to RO and Neversoft, all the guitars they have in there too like Kramer are just off-brands of Gibson...

Personally I'd like to see them put B.C. Rich in the game. They're sweet looking guitars, and sound nice in real life, too (not that that really matters in RB). But with no metal, I doubt they'd go out of their way to license a guitar used mostly by metal artists.

I got myself a BC Rich for $50 at Guitar Center, what a great buy, haha, wonderful guitar, especially for the price tag.

I also have a Dean and a Fender bass, love 'em, lol, 2 metal guitars for someone who plays Classic Rock/Punk....

Wow, good deal. Mine was $230. A Dean was my second choice. They'd be cool to see in rock band as well.
